Bag o cassettes
Let the bulk loading begin
Once a year I hit the local camera shop and grab 200 empty cassettes from the film developing station, use blue painters tape to attach the film at the base, and haven't messed with those pop top cassettes in years.
(and yeah, the heavy rubber bands help keep those slides in place, too)
Yes, speed is definitely a factor, and I'm with you on the close focus guessing.
It's like everything else, tho - you'll pry my Pentax LX out of my cold dead hands but plenty of people think I'm nuts bc of it. I shoot what I'm most comfortable and efficient using depending on what I need.
Isn't it crazy how simple some of these things are, but I'll spend way too much time looking for complicated solutions.
Again: I'm thankful for those who came before me and have graciously shared their hacks for the greater good.

I crack myself up. Writing eBay descriptions for cameras gets tedious after a while and I just have to let loose.

Did someone make a mistake on the pricing? Same shop has one AS IS for $20 more.
*I'm* the old dude now!
I'm forever grateful to the old dudes who made all the mistakes before me and passed them along with practical solutions so that hopefully I don't make quite as many as they did.
Rubber band
I use rubber bands, same as with my 4x5 film holders. If it's lengthwise, it's loaded. Width = empty.
Yes! And yet despite how deep the blacks are, there's still detail. Absolutely my favorite B&W film for low light photography.

Who are you calling a knob, mate?
But yeah I guess they had to put something on it you could grab onto?
And the distance!
Oh heck - and the aperture...
I mean, it's a great camera for a lot of reasons and a lot of people... just not me.
OMG that must have been it! Good call!
Yes! My Olympus XA continues to be my favorite of all the pocket cameras I've used over the years. It's a completely different beast but it takes beautiful pics, feels great, does aperture priority, and is a true pocket camera.
I hope you enjoy it when yours arrives!
YES - and while I didn't look at it real close last night, I wonder if that noise is more from where the film turns the corner into the takeup spool? There isn't a roller of any sort at that point like with most other cameras. The winder w/o film is clicky, but with film sounds crunchy.
Oh the T2 is slick looking - a friend had one and always raved about it. For a pocket camera I always end up back at my Olympus XA. Now if that can just keep working til I kick the bucket...
It's definitely a solid, fantastic camera, and that's why I really wish it felt like something I want to carry frequently. It has everything I need (and all mechanical = great. Even my favorite Pentax LX locks up w/o a battery from 1/60 and slower) it just doesn't make me want to shoot it?
Yeah, completely agree - attraction isn't just the physical but the practicality - it just doesn't end up feeling practical for me. I may be in the minority but that's okay - so many great cameras out there to work with...
LOL - great assessment! Tell me more! But on your next one try to be a little more imaginative yourself? Good lord, what a basic trolling comment.
It's just too quirky for me. I want to love it, but I don't. I can't. At any rate, this one is near mint, has a working light meter, and will probably be available to buy in the next week (once I finish the roll I foolishly loaded last night). Mint condition leather case as well.
Truth:
The Rollei 35 S intrigues the hell out of me. It's tiny, hefty & fast w/an amazing 40mm 2.8 lens. Fully manual.
Every time I get one I think maybe I'll keep it.
Then I load film into its quirky ass & carry it around a bit. Then I sell it.

Dave's kinda cute, too.
Oh wow - that's a great shot you guys created! Beautiful, and congrats on the Dirty Show exhibit.
I'm surprised a little bit, but I think I was expecting a much blurrier, darker portrait bc of the 3s long expo. That and I didn't know what to expect from the FP4 being so old.
A lotta brass and glass on this one - surprised by the heft of it.
3 second exposure taken by my wife after the sun hit the horizon - took longer than expected to get it all set up...

Kirsten making a funny face while waiting for me to get film into the Graflex and snap a photo of her uncharacteristic 70's bush. Prior to this she kept her hair short and she talked about how much more she liked it grown out. Peer pressure, she said, is why she had kept trimming it short.
When Kirsten came over with a big 70's bush and posed for a closeup for The Pussy Project.
We shot ~12 times over 2-3 years - she never took herself or me too seriously but the pics we got were powerful.
