This fall I explored Shenandoah National Park for the first time. Camping at Big Meadows campground gave me a nice central location for some fun rock scrambles, waterfall hikes, and wildlife viewing.

I saved the most difficult trek for last. Rainbow Mountain and Red Valley are higher than I’ve ever been before. The summit of Rainbow Mountain sits at 16,522', well over 2,000' past the highest point I had been previously.
