Trump Demands ‘Unconditional Surrender’ by Iran

We are on day 6 of the war, and the administration still cannot give a straight answer whether the goal of the war is regime change. Unserious people inflicting serious harm.

We rightfully focus a lot on Pam Bondi's DoJ cover-up. But we sure as hell don't talk enough about what the hell Merrick Garland's DoJ did sitting on these materials for 4 years without prosecuting anyone.

The Saudis have an interest in reducing Iran's military capability and, especially, to set back further its nuclear program, not necessarily to make it a failed state.

Israel is targeting critical infrastructure and police stations- these targets don’t pose security threat but are about reducing state capacity.

Not enough reporting on the fact that Netanyahu’s government goal of making Iran a failed /crippled state isn’t in the interest of the USA and its Gulf Allies.

The Republican Party is benefiting from Crypto (very large donations from early investors), so it has no incentive to regulate that lane.

The argument for legalizing vice is always the same - tighter regulation and more tax revenue.

It’s already abundantly clear that it’s disastrous especially for young male who are racking up cc debt on betting and are becoming singe issue voters on crypto because of their significant exposure.

Imagine taking something that's led to tons of death threats against professionals in different sports (video games included) and thinking it would be a good idea to stake it on politicians' lives instead

Making it so easy to bet on sports and politics has been such a disastrous policy choice.

Not being able to keep the story straight for such high stake operation is truly amateuristic.

US strikes on Iran triggered by Israel’s plan to launch attack, Rubio says Democrats disturbed by rationale that Trump ordered pre-emptive strikes out of concern about Tehran retaliation

In addition to not making much sense, this war rationale feeds into the worst antisemitic tropes advanced by right-wing influencers like Tucker Carlson, Candace Owens, and Nick Fuentes.

Trump gets such special treatment , the media does not bother criticizing him for overseeing a war from an insecure country club instead of the WH situation room.

Kind of amazing that both Rubio and Johnson basically said Israel dragged Trump into the war. How does that not play out badly with their base?

For a new research project in Kenya, we are looking for an updated list of EAs (2019 Census EA frame), ideally with their centroid coordinates. Any help would be highly appreciated.

I agree, Ken. The idea that somehow the war is fought on behalf of the Iranian people is a sad joke.

1. who knows? The Trump administration never made a case for the war, and did not clarify its goals.

2. A 3-4 weeks joint US-Isr campign against military targets can cause serious damage.

3. I agree that Israel offers no diplomatic solution to prevent such wars from reoccurring every few years.

The savings we're getting here by annihilating decades of American science will pay for whole minutes of the operation to create decades of death, immiseration, and chaos in Iran.

Israel’s main goal is to cripple Iran’s military capabilities for years to come. a friendlier regime is a bonus but not necessary for the war to be considered successful.

If you don't explain to the public what the goals of the war are, you can still take credit in the best-case scenario. And you can always disengage if things don't go as planned, and claim some victory (e.g., obliterating Iran's military capabilities).

Fair point. Though after 10 years of constant lies, including the Jan 6 `big lie', they should have known better.

He finally found a way of invoking the nukes as war justification that is also consistent with the “total obliteration” narrative of the past 8 months.
