@writeups.org
One of the classic tabletop role-playing game resource websites, profiling thousands of published characters from various media (but mostly superhero comics). #TTRPG / #comics / #MECFS / #DCHeroes #Mutantsandmasterminds
Originally it was a useful bit of professional jargon to distinguish between roles, readiness levels, engagement doctrines, etc..
Then it broke containment.
Added our first chronological profile for Marvel #Comics' #Wolverine.
This short article only covers his earliest #Hulk appearances. Since as soon as he joins the #X-Men, the concept undergoes significant changes.
Pics, #TTRPG stats, powers, biography, characterisation, etc. - our canuck usual.
Saddle chairs can be a good solution.
But one that is heavily dependent on your build, budget, opportunities to try them out, musculature, etc. etc..
And while I like making up my own weird little guys, I'm aware that most of the actions would be in character profiles for the published characters, such as Jaina or Sylvanas.
The nice thing about the latter, though, is that the research is mostly novels-based and doesn't involve a subscription.
I've played enough WoDraenor and Outland (original timeline) in WoW that I have a character concept with enough good hooks. And a decent mix of (some) original lore and exploration of aspects of the setting.
Of course, I can't know whether she'll truly work before I've written her up. (1/2)
Plus, I dislike giving money to Blizzard. Or Activision Blizzard. Or Microsoft. Or tech companies in general. Or US companies in general.
Still, apparently, having your account on hold still allows for 200 trader tokens per month for cosmetics. Which is a small but welcome gift. (2/2)
I'm putting my #WoW account on hold for a few months.
I'm generally patient, but the months-long 1/day crafting grinds in Warlords of Draenor just exceeded my patience.
So I need a break from my WoW breaks, as they've become WoW chores. (1/2)
Added a small bonus to the Shotgun Blast packaged Power, which now can lower Flight-based OVs by 1 AP.
It's tiny, and previously would have mostly been useful for duck hunts. But now that buckshot is emerging as a good asset for light infantry when it comes to defence against light attack drones...
A photo of French philosopher Jean Baudrillard smoking a cigarette. Baudrillard is chiefly known for deep analyses of how reality and its processed representation interact.
A tweet by the Proton CEO, Andy Yen, praising Donald Trump for being the champion of "the little guys" unlike the Democratic party.
New History of the DC Universe: The Dakota Incident #1 is going back to press!
Second Printing details and cover art will follow.
Thanks to retailers and readers for the support!
Bien dit.
There will be an awkward gap before the last third of the article shows up. For boring logistical reasons.
I could override the normal publishing schedule, but since in a few weeks it will be a complete non-issue... Best to keep things simple.
The second third of our #TTRPG-centric article about #Bioware's #Anthem #videogame is up.
This part discusses the setting some more, the situation as the story starts, bits about the sample character, factions, and an example heavy power armour suit.

The clinic has to provide me with the necessary care, with the State footing my bill at a standardised rate.
This is of course achieved through the power of Socialism(tm).
(Or rather, a brief spurt of socialism after WWII, which our ruling class has been trying to roll back ever since). (3/3)
But as a broad-ish, middle-aged, sinister-looking skinhead dude in construction clothing and with a zombie-ish body language...
... even sore thumbs don't stick out as hard. It's an odd mixture of awkward and comical. (2/3)
Amusingly, the hospital I've been referred to for a quick surgery seems to be a semi-upscale clinic.
With this specific service usually seeing middle-aged affluent ladies for... whatever age-erasing cosmetic treatments it is they need, ain't none of my business. (1/3)
And since everybody on Bluesky is reportedly 38, then you were only 5 when this was released. So you likely missed it, you whippersnappers.
While I'm prepping some bandages, me brain has decided that it was REALLY REALLY IMPORTANT to have a flashback to Digable Planets' "Rebirth of Slick" (1993).
This was one of the high points of early 1990s jazz rap. With Art Blakey samples, strong vocal flow chops, and generally being sharp AF.
Une des rares opportunités crédibles pour revitaliser Besançon, et bien sûr Macron ne fait rien. 😾
IIRC there's an Epic Collection, or other modern reprint, that shows in the appendices a page where the bullpen had to erase all the nipples.
Surgery reported to Monday 😾.
In the meanwhile I checked that our glossary already explained "Glup Shitto", and added an entry for "Blorbo from my shows".
THESE ARE IMPORTANT TERMS OF ART.
Leaving to get some trivial surgery. It should fix the specific health issue that has been slowing me down for two weeks.
Unless some other shit comes up, I'll then be able to start scoping the Black Canary 1976-1986 research I previously mentioned.
Years are tentative since research hasn't begun.
OTOH, many gamers are chiefly interested in playing the same games that their friends are playing. This might be one reason why Sony thinks high-buzz exclusives still drive sales ?
Which of course means a new kind of trolling where you have LLMs write incendiary posts in the style of the target poster, so they'll be identified as being being your sock puppet.
What she said.
We're not hit as hard as this animé site. But the ceaseless scraping is hammering us all, and we have to pay for stronger hosting. Which is bound to rise in price - and cannot suffice anyway.
I'll eventually have no choice but to go with Cloudflare, as they do.
The PC's ideological trajectory has been downright bizarre for the last 20-ish years, in a "median voter" sort of way.
But yes, generally, what @taniel.bsky.social said.
Refurbished the profile for DC #Comics' Silver Deer, an obscure 1980s #Firestorm villain. Magical shapeshifting Cherokee communist terrorist.
"Wait", you say. "Isn't @onceuponageek.bsky.social the only person interested in old Firestorm baddies?". Yeah, prolly.
Pictures, #TTRPG stats, biography...
Next we continue to refurbish our character profiles for the 1980s, Mirage #Comics, indie B&W version of the #TMNT Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
This time around it's Donatello. The bo staff one.
Pictures, #TTRPG stats, skills, biography, quotes, etc. - our beshelled usual.
