I think LLM based technology is here to stay in some form of middle ground between the AGI and the 'AI is useless' extremes. All, to include vendors, should be thinking of what that means to our workflows and current business models.

Even if you see lawful access tooling as the main competitive advantage these vendors could have the fact still remains that less workers means less licenses. I don't believe the LLM hype will come to pass. I also don't believe the technology will be a dud like NFTs.

How will vendors adjust to the supposed efficiencies the #LLM boom will create? If the use of AI requires fewer humans and fewer humans means fewer licenses then a company's best product will inevitably shrink their revenue.

Current #DigitalForensics licensing and SaaS offerings are set on a per seat pricing model. If #AI is so efficient that fewer examiners will be needed then that would lead to less licenses being sold per customer.

Oh would you look at that! Anthropicβs magical shrinking margins went from 70% to 47% to 40%, with higher than expected inference costs, and its revenue projections were below estimates. Iβm sure theyβre somehow magically gonna be profitable by 2028!

The increasingly common habit of screenshotting the AI summary of a Google search and presenting it as evidence must be nipped in the bud immediately. That is nothing. That is not anything, it is not a thing.
