Corporate America’s New Slogan: Make More, Pay Less America is now living in what might be called the Age of the Corporation. Corporate profits, after having reached 8% of GDP only once in the previous 94 years, have averaged 9% since 2021. The statuto...

If corporate income tax collection had kept up with 1960s levels, companies would be paying $620 billion more a year in taxes. In my latest, I ask: what did we get in return? Not wages, not benefits, but record profits and a growing public disgust with companies.

And if they’re mad about this, how could it parlay to being mad about corporate tax rates??? Things I’m thinking about.

The Jobs Report Is Worse Than It Looks | Prof G Markets
The Jobs Report Is Worse Than It Looks | Prof G Markets YouTube video by The Prof G Pod – Scott Galloway

I went on Prof G Markets to talk about the jobs report yesterday. Easter egg for the careful listeners: I forgot to silence my phone and you can hear that my text alert sound is the Star Trek hailing frequency chirp.

Being a nerd: it's really a total commitment.

People live longer so Social Security's retirement age needs to go up, right?

I disagree, and explain in my latest piece how this is a benefit cut with some loose logic attached. We can make the program better and fairer, but not like this.

Affordable Housing Starts in the Labor Market When it comes to housing affordability, the logic of β€œbuild build build” is straightforward enough: Housing is too expensive. If there were more of it, prices would fall. Ergo, build more housing. Hom...

The easy fix is the inadequate one. 'Just build' will not solve housing affordability because it doesn't get at the root of the problem: the accumulation of decades of deepening income inequality. My latest for Bloomberg:

Black women's unemployment has skyrocketed. Here’s what happened. The rate is now equivalent to White women’s during the bleakest moments of the Great Recession.

At 7.3%, Black women’s unemployment is now at levels white women only saw during the Great Recession. @kedseconomist.com and @jessicajfulton.bsky.social explain what job loss at this scale means for families, communities, and the economy. Read in @19thnews.org: 19thnews.org/2026/01/blac...

Health Care Is Just as Dangerous for the Economy as AI Forget the AI 'Bubble' – Health Care Poses a Bigger Risk to the US Economy

The AI bubble is well trod territory. In my latest for Bloomberg, I write about the economy's dependency on an industry that has poor outcomes, inefficiently high costs, and is completely dependent on government support: health care.
