Killing a few hours here at the airport before heading to Paris.

Just realised another TV personality is sitting next to me on this flight ….

I have arrived at the Port of the Air.

They could switch off their AIS transponders, but then that increases dependence on radar and visual monitoring.

Not to mention, how all of this impacts global supply chains, starting with insurance risk shooting upwards.

Crippling effects of bad actors messing with critical GPS infrastructure.

This really shit situation in the Middle East is turning out to be a real-time test / demo on how GNSS disruption will play out over a larger area, affecting multiple actors (each with their own GNSS requirements).

Suspect multiple nations might be testing new tech to get around spoofing issues.

Just said bye to my dog, who I won't see for the next three weeks 😭😭😭😭😭

And lastly, the eclipse photos. 😍

Clouds blocked the moment of totality but the surrounding captures turned out nice.

Can make out some local stars surrounding the Moon as well.

This was a good eclipse, even if the clouds tried to ruin it for us!

The full moon, partially eclipsed and behind some thin clouds

These first two show Earth’s curvature, as the Moon moves into Earth’s shadow (sorry, flatearthers).

I really like the first one, as the Moon sits just above the dimly lit silver ridge of a cloud. The shadow makes it look 3D and SciFi-like.

The second is behind some thinner clouds.

Here come my #LunarEclipse pics from earlier tonight. Imaged with the DSLR attached to the telescope (as my lens).

These six are my best ones from the event.

The clouds were ultra-annoying but I managed a few snaps when there were empty patches.

The last total lunar eclipse until 2028!

Sometimes, you just need to spend the day whinging and complaining and the next thing you know, the clouds slightly part and you see a #LunarEclipse

It’s happening and the telescope and camera are set up!

Hopefully the big cloudless patches happen when it’s in totality!

Welcome to my world!

Because on 22 July 2028, there will be a *total solar eclipse* and the path of totality will pass within 3.5 km from my house.

That's a 1 / 1000 year event.

There will be no clouds on that day.
