For quite a while I've been working on a Fast Fourier Transform based ocean simulation in my render engine.
Whilst there is still a lot to work on, I'm excited to see the result once I've added IBL to this renderer.

I really should go all in on bluesky - just popped in here again and it is sooo refreshing seeing relevant and interesting posts instead of bait and spam posts.
Do people have any recommendations for imgui libraries for C++ that arenβt Dear Imgui? Undecided if I want to integrate anything but want to explore alternatives.
In our next Tiny Glade update we'll bump the light limit from 32 to 32k while keeping the cost more or less the same.
The small limit has been a cop out, as we didn't quite know how to render huge numbers of (screen-space) shadow-casting lights without severe performance degradation.
Today we check out the recently released 1.0 version of Defold Druid. DrUId is a robust, free and open source UI framework for the excellent free #Defold (@defold) game engine.

For context π
Remotery is a single C file, real-time instrumenting profiler, supporting a wild variety of CPUs, OS's and GPU APIs. It can live render millions of samples at 60hz in a browser and watch threads jump across cores without elevation.
Simple. Fast. Pure C99.

Who among you has written a job system and has strong opinions about good places to start
Haha damnit sorry, only reason I thought it looked similar is since I walked around it like last week! π
Niiiiice! Is this RΓ₯stasjΓΆn? π€
I usually have a million projects going, from multiplayer extension for Defold to minimalistic cross platform windowing library - rarely finishing anything. Iβve been on parental leave since April and will be back at work in December - hobby coding has been extremely limited recently as well. π

Never introduced myself, see a bunch of new followers, so maybe itβs time. Iβm an engineer currently at Figma working on Dev Mode, previously I worked on the Defold game engine at King, and also the Crash Bandicoot mobile game. I like realtime rendering, design and NES emu - screens from my emulator
Hi! hope this place is better. Here's something I made: www.youtube.com/watch?v=fM0l... and you can read how I made it here bitnenfer.com/blog/2020/05... <3
Hello, World!
Any Defold users here?
Wait, like import the old bird site timeline? How? π€
Nice to see @defoldengine.bsky.social is also here now!
Am now going to migrate as much of my twitter content over to bluesky as possible. Time to post exclusive stuff!
here is one: outtake from Metal Hellsinger development with Mikael Stanne of Dark Tranquillity and Halo Effect fame. Playing a veeerrry early prototype of Metal from 2019.
Color me surprised when I just came back and didnβt know they werenβt called skeets anymore.

Since I can't post about my Xbox work β and don't have any hobby projects on the go currently, I will do a thread about useful GPU tooling that's open access and/or open source.
Starting in next post:

Awesome, and great initiative with the starter pack as well!
I'm looking for gamedev and graphics peeps to follow. Who you got? Reposts appreciated!
I think the rendering/engine dev list will overlap at least some of that criteria:
Haha yes, posts are so much better, but I find it so funny that skeets were the word used when I last used the site π
I have been on parental leave since April, and essentially AFK since then - Iβm feeling very out of the loop on tech.
Is now the time that Bluesky takes off for real? (This skeet will either age quite good, or really bad (and are we still calling Bluesky posts as skeets?))
I tried going through my following for anyone that seemed to mention graphics / engine dev / etc, and added them all to a starter pack. I might have missed people, or included people I shouldn't, but it's at least a start! Please let me know anyone else that should be included!

It was (sadly?) - funny enough other people has taken credit afterwards, which is fine tbh I don't really care - it is a fun story though. Β―\_(γ)_/Β―
This was my collection in 2019, it grew to about three times that size before i realized that i had to focus on fewer system.
