The People's Choice Awards exist if you want that.
As discussed in this post, the Nominating Committee is *finally* nearing gender parity (45% in 2025). Imposing term limits gives them a chance to have these lines intersect.
Good analogy. It is still just one vote out of 1200+
Last year, Phish ran away with the Fan Vote. With their performance from 2025, they would only be in *12th place* this year.
The Rock Hall's strategy of gamifying the Fan Vote appears to have worked. Daily votes are up more than 400% from what they were getting at this time last year. Multiple fan bases have been activated, with three different artists receiving the most votes in a single day.
Not enough people are talking about why the biggest band in the world has been ignored by the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame for four straight ballots. [This is almost on par with Bill Belichick getting snubbed by the Pro Football Hall of Fame] futurerocklegends.com/News/index_f...
New Edition's Bobby Brown on being a part of the 2026 Rock Hall nominees: "Weβre fans of theirs, we listen to their music, and we follow their careers, and itβs just good to know that weβre in such a [powerful] class. Weβre really happy to be a part of this."

The Jann Wenner and Jon Landau era, that had embedded so many Rolling Stone and Bruce Springsteen proxies onto the Nominating Committee, might be over.
Others with tenure over 10 years who would likely be removed in the future: Rick Krim (probably exempted), Cliff Burnstein, Holly George-Warren, Mike Kaufman, Questlove, Tom Morello, Meg Griffin, Greg Harris (probably exempted)

- Rob Light
- David Fricke
- Elysa Gardner

To meet reader demand, hereβs who I voted for on my 2026 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Ballot last week, and related thoughts on the subject (including on everybody nominated, whether I voted for them or not. Do I have opinions, or what??) If I donβt agree with my votes, why should you?
Alan Light talks about how the Rock Hallβs new term limits have βgraduatedβ him off the Nominating Committee.
Paul McCartney holds a grudge that John Lennon was inducted into the Rock Hall before him as a soloist. In a new interview, the Beatle admits the dealings of Jann Wenner pissed him off: βF- - -ing bastardsβ

NomCom member Sheryl Crow in 2023: "I would like to do a lot of work for Melissa Etheridge [to get inducted], because I think not only does she have a lot of hits... but she also opened the doors for a lot of not just women, but people in general. So Iβm hoping that she gets recognized.β

This is the second place weβve seen that says the induction ceremony will be at a 1200 seat performing arts center at Belmont University. The *Musicians* Hall of Fame is doing their ceremony there, not the Rock Hall. Blame AI slopβ¦ www.bmi.com/news/entry/b...
