The thesis is, if google ranks those pages in the top results, that usually means that they do something right, meaning they do something that the google algorithm rewards right now.
So I'm just basically copying what already works.

I'm using a self-made algorithm, based on years of SEO research by experts (I have not invented anything new).
I scan the top 6-10 pages for a specific keyword and compare a few ranking factors:
how many headings they use, how long the copy is, how often certain keywords/terms show up, and so on.
