She was hospitalized with seizures?? This poor woman was being tortured by the sadists who work for the DHS. This is cruel and unusual punishment and the perpetrators deserve life in prison.

BREAKING: Exactly one year since she was detained, an immigration judge has just ordered the release of Leqaa Kordia — the last Columbia protestor still in ICE detention.
DHS has kept her, despite a magistrate judge recommending her release and an immigration judge already *twice* ordering so.
And look, maybe we will find a new model for intelligence that can supersede LLMs—maybe it’s an analog computer that perfectly simulates a human brain or whatever.
If that happens, then we’ll all become plumbers, but for now, I just have a feeling we’ll be alright until 2028. Cheers to the bubble!
I really don’t think AI is going to kill the entire “intelligence” job sector—you can’t build a successful company from dumb people generating millions of lines of code and art. They will need to hire white collar workers to do the boring and hard stuff. They’ll run out of patience babysitting LLMs.
Like, I’m really sorry to say, but all the really smart, business savvy people have already left to make their own scrappy thing or retired. All the rest of us white collars stuck around because we’re just smart enough to enjoy our cushy jobs and need the healthcare.
If I can throw my (cynical) hat into the ring, I just think that LLMs and the people who run companies are just far too stupid to replace white collar workers.
No way are they going to be able to command a fleet of AI to completely automate us. They’ll certainly try, and then it will fail—S-curve.

My guess is, at this point, you can wait for a class action lawsuit to roll into discovery and they’ll have to reach out to all the potential litigants anyway ahah.

It’s very risky for the biscy for them to do that, given that you can say whatever you want in reply to that post to refute or qualify whatever claim they are trying to make.

And I get it - I'm a Middle Eastern/Arab kid, we're being scapegoated by billionaires for the entire worlds ills while being bombarded in like a dozen countries at once. I get falling in line because you're scared but that's how fascism wins. If you allow others to be hurt, it'll come for you.

I’m thinking Kim Stanley Robinson meets Cory Doctorow—it’s part, “how do we very quickly rebuild transportation capacity without paved roads (plus it’s very comfy to walk on!),” and part “how do fossil fuel capitalists throw money into corrupting society when the writing is on the wall.”
This reminds me of a Kim Stanley Robinson-esque sci-fi story concept/IRL fantasy I had, where a moss naturally (or is bioengineered to?) evolve to colonize asphalt, and due to its prevalence, threatens to render all roads to mush in a few years and forces society’s hand on de-car-bonizing.
My hope is that, perhaps, we can make peace with Iran by pleading insanity.
Also I want to remind everyone that Islam has Dajjal prophecies too, but we’re not TRYING TO ACCELERATE IT HAPPENING?! It’s a terrifying time and we don’t want that.
