The Celtics will sign two players tomorrow. For $ purposes, one will almost surely be Max Shulga, who will be converted from his two-way contract. The other is a mystery, though it's worth noting that Cole Anthony hasn't signed anywhere yet.

Before this 3 game road trip, the Celtics had one of the hardest remaining strength of schedule. OKC and San Antonio skewed that though.
With the trip in the rearview, the remaining SOS is middle of the pack. The Knicks have one of the easiest paths though, so Boston needs to keep winning.
That's a good point. The long ball era has transformed the game.
The thing about the Celtics first 20 games is they included the first 12 games. Boston went 5-7 of to start the season due to the initial adjustment from losing multiple starters and half the rotation over the summer.
That is correct! It's the Celtics.
The shorthanded Celtics fell just short of the West's best on this roadtrip.
Pop quiz though: What contender has the best chance to improve between now and the playoffs?
Ron Harper Jr. can play.
That's true too. He's much younger than Havlicek and Cowens were when they entered the league, but he arrived with some of their fierceness.
Havlicek was all pro talented on both ends, but just on pure energy, motor, hand size and frame, Hugo reminds me of Havlicek.
The Celtics did ok last night considering they were down Brown, Pritchard and Vucevic, and with Tatum just ramping up.
The Spurs are a top team who hit their 3s, which is tough to beat. But if SA shot their normal rate from long, they'd've missed 2 or 3 more and it would have been anyone's game.
John Tonje had half a Bam tonight while playing for Maine. 42 points on 12-20. He was 8-10 from 3.
Bam Adebayo fell one rebound shy a double double tonight. Other than that shortfall, he had a pretty good game.
This Celtics team continues to be amazing.
Scheierman did a good job bringing up the ball under pressure with Pritchard out.
Oops. I've brain sproinged.
The Celtics were set to draft Fleming with the 32nd pick, but the Suns traded up and took him. That resulted in the Celtics trading back for extra picks and taking Amari Williams (who is promising).
It was one late season win by Utah that changed the order of those 31st and 32nd picks.
The early game cost Tatum about 6 hours rest going into this one, but it gives him about 7 hours extra before the Spurs.
Queta played his second most minutes ever.
Scheierman's rise from should be on the team to should he start over Hauser is incredible.
Adding an all pro in early March is smart.
You'd think having a thumb fracture would negatively affect your shooting.
The Celtics are up 17 and their bench is up 15 of those.
me too!
It looks like maybe no Jarrett Allen tomorrow, so small ball might happen for both teams.
With Vuc out, small ball might be doable for short minutes, especially paired with Tatum. This gives Walsh an avenue for minutes when it looked like he might be buried.
Center Walsh paired with Tatum? Could be.
As far as Vuc, he didn't wow since the deal. Garza could give the Cs just as much.
Good article. I was impressed by how well Tatum synced with both Queta and Garza. He made both of them more effective.
I have no idea. It really doesn't matter either, because the guy won't play. I mention him earlier- Cole Anthony would be very good for a buyout guy, and the fact that he hasn't signed anywhere yet makes me think this is possible.
Lonzo's maybe done, but who knows?
Banton.
That's all I have.
You can see this after the 22 minute mark in this video:
www.youtube.com/watch?v=DfKD...
Brad Stevens said that's what they're looking to do- sign a ball handler who knows beforehand that he won't play unless there's an injury and is ok with that.
It 's still way more likely a point than a center. The Vuc injury just makes a center remotely possible.
Maybe it'll be Banton. Cole Anthony would be fine if he doesn't choose another team. Or like you say, someone no one's talked of. Brad does that regularly.
They'll do both. The Harper signing would happen the last day of the season. That's on top of a mystery vet signing which will happen on 3/14, one week from now.
According to Yossi Gozlan, they can just barely sign a vet on 3/14 along with Shulga. Then they could convert Harper on the last day of the season too.
It'll probably still be a ball handler along with Shulga on 3/14

Whoever they get at whichever position would only be used in case of another injury. Maybe Amari is up to it. Even with Vuc out, the chance of them picking up a center is slim.
I love Amari and want him to play too. But he's gonna make a lot of mistakes right now. If Q or Garza goes down it would help to have another option if there's a serviceable one available (which there probably isn't).
