The hate for this game is way too much. Sure they've changed things and taken bits out, but it's still a good game. And Dark Ties destroyed me.
The world could be such a nice place if we allowed it. It's all so goddamn unnecessary. There's no need for any of it. It's so beautiful here. It should be so cool to be alive

Metacritic has sent a reminder email to all games site editors/publishers which is pretty strong, and great:
This is awful!
I just had a horrible thought.
What if this kind of age verification comes to video game storefronts?
Please, everyone, keep physical media going!
If we continue to let out-of-touch executives make out-of-touch decisions, this industry is going to look unrecognizable fast. Say what you will about Phil Spencer, Sarah Bond, and Xbox in recent years, but they were clued into the gaming community, even as Microsoft pushed the current against them.
There needs to be a chart of just how much money was spent by the major publishers chasing the live-service goose on cancelled games, and the leadership of those publishers should have to take paycuts equal to the money spent if they closed any of those studios.
Just saw an ad that started out "your kids won't remember their best day of screen time" and while I of course broadly agree with the sentiment that you should do activities with your children, don't tell me i don't remember beating zelda a link to the past

Knew this was coming for years, and it still sucks!
This is a terrible idea
I can't keep up with social media, game space these days. All weekend, my Instagram feed has been full of reels about Marvel Rivals drama and, apparently, it happened a week ago. Is this a sign I'm getting old?
Apparently people are cosplaying as Jimmy from 28 Years Later?

1. Final Fantasy VII
I know, only 29 years late. Having now played it, I don't get the complaints about the changes, they don't actually change much. But, I'm glad I played it and I'm ready for Remake part 3 now. There's something magical about FFVII.
