Microsatellite markers for the praying mantid Tenodera sinensis (Mantodea, Mantidae) and the demonstration of multiple paternity The praying mantid Tenodera sinensis (Saussure, 1871) is widely distributed and a popular species for studying many aspects of mantid biology. In this study, ten microsatellite loci were characterized...

Researchers have successfully developed ten new genetic markers to study the popular Chinese Mantis, Tenodera sinensis.

By applying these markers to a wild egg case, the team was able to prove that a single clutch can have multiple fathers!
