Strange how every “America First” move somehow ends up helping Moscow. What a coincidence.

Lowkey ally
Yeah, it's a combination of things.
There's the dumb that he ACTUALLY is.
Then there's the things where he's been corrected, knows what's what, but ignored that because his VOTERS are dumb, & he's clever enough to know that educating them pisses them off.
This "asylum" bit is the latter, I'd bet.
Screenshot from The Guardian. In the upper edge of the screenshot, the scalp of a person whose hair is cut very short (perhaps half a centimeter). Begin quote of the text shown... The Guardian picture essay Hair apparent: inside the transplant capital of the world – photo essay It is estimated that every year more than one million bald people fly to Istanbul. They go for two reasons – hair transplant quality and competitive costs By Alessandro Gandolfi “I used to look at my father and understand that I was destined to go bald,” says James McElroy. He smiles when he thinks back to his trip to Istanbul a year ago. “I had a few doubts at the beginning, but today I’m happy and satisfied. Yes, I had a hair transplant, I don’t hide it and I’m not ashamed of it. It was a somewhat intense experience, but I’d do it again – especially now that I’m single. I’m happy to talk about it and I’m happy to receive compliments. That wasn’t the goal, but I appreciate them.” ...end quote of text shown. The phrase "especially now that I'm single." has been highlighted by me.
Ask me if I'm surprised the person quoted is single.
Go ahead. Ask me.
If you’re roughly my age, it’s wild to reflect on the optimism for the future Americans felt when Obama was elected — young Americans spontaneously took to the streets to celebrate! — and contrast with what we face today. The falloff over the past 18 years is hard to process.
Screenshot of an SMS exchange between my wife and myself. FYI: You may or may not know this. (Daughter's name) went to Florida to help your dad with your mom. The papers were signed and (mother's name) will be moving into a memory care facility the last week of this month. (Responses...) I did not. That's very kind of her. ...or, I hope she sneaks away with the family jewels.
In which my adult daughter does a presumably nice thing that I would not do, even if they had a way to ask me (which they don't).
Across America, strangers will high-five each other, group chats will erupt, dogs will wag at nothing. In DC, bartenders will ring bells. In Paris, a cigarette is lit. In Canada, someone will apologize for cheering. Democracy will exhale, kick off its shoes, and sits down.
It was a pipe organ, wasn’t it?
Christian Nationalism is NOT Christianity, but it is a national security threat.
📌 The Military Religious Freedom Foundation says it has received over 200 complaints that troops are being told war with Iran is meant to accelerate “Armageddon.”
Dang, that does look amazing. And it’s maybe a 25min drive from here. I should make a point to go try.
That's what a bigot would say. Just avoid his company's movies.
I don't like to be all look at me but I was waiting at a very busy crosswalk in Georgetown & a german Shepherd licked my hand while he and his owner were waiting to cross too.
I'm kind of a big deal.
What a shameful exercise in performative religiosity and piety 😳
Folks, we argue about important hot takes, but here's my scorching take that does not matter at all.
There is no such thing as good soup. Soup was a bad idea that we've outgrown as a species.
Feels good to cut ties with Spotify. I'm embarrassed it took so long. Finally got that taint out of my music. (And by taint, of course I'm referring to that sweaty human gooch Joe Rogan.)
Roses are red,
Violets are icky,
I’m turning 40 later this month. It’s magical because the brain quietly deletes the file labeled “impress strangers” and you start saying things like:
“No, I’m not going out tonight.”
“That sounds loud.”
“Let’s eat at 5:15 so we beat the crowd.”
Today, Michelle and I are proud to announce that we will be hosting the dedication ceremony for the Obama Presidential Center on June 18th in Chicago, and welcoming the public on June 19th.
We can’t wait for you to visit. Go to obama.org to learn more.
I've had some major bouts with depression in my life...becoming most acute in my mid teens. I've been fortunate enough to receive some excellent help when I needed it...from caring therapists and psychiatrists who found the best medication for me.
Get help if you need it. There is hope for us all.
I've never been more disgusted with being a US citizen...
Until I wake up and check the news tomorrow morning.
Well, gas is expensive, and food is expensive, and we’re doing a war nobody wants, but at least there are no jobs
Their guy said he'd pardon the J6 insurrectionists--and then shockingly did it.
I haven't heard any potential Democratic candidate promise to pardon everybody arrested for protesting ICE.
That'd go a long way toward showing me they're opposition and not just controlled.
Lauren Boebert is so dumb she thinks “cum laude” is noisy sex.
Well. Shoot. The Schweigert is about 52% more expensive than the Hormel. But in my opinion, it tastes more than 52% better. I may have to stick with Schweigert, & just have it a bit less often. So impressed!
In which my adorable wife & I talk about the normal things married couples talk about.

Oh heavens, that looks amazing.
ppl think of Hitchcock as this director guy but he was doing Presents, he had a mystery magazine, he had a tie in book series about 3 kids who solve crimes from a caravan in a junkyard and do pyramid scheme marketing then for some reason expose the crimes to Alfred Hitchcock, man was hustling 24/7
I'm 55 and today I learned that Christopher Lloyd was 47 when he played Doc Brown in the 1985 film Back to the Future.
lol
Reverend Jesse Jackson called on each of us to be heralds of change, to be messengers of hope; to step forward and say “Send me” wherever we have a chance to make an impact.
How fortunate we were that Jesse Jackson answered that call. What a great debt we owe to him.
Today's abysmal jobs report is a reminder that tax cuts for corporations and the rich don’t create jobs or grow the economy.
What's required is investment in working people — and better wages.
When workers have money to spend, the economy grows and businesses create more jobs.
Remember this.
