Very professional communication style there.
I mean, I'm 0% surprised, to be clear, but WTF?
Kalshi and Polymarket are both awful. But very on-brand for this particular horrific moment in history.

Yep.
Itβs almost like heβs hoping for it so that he can have an excuse to use βemergency powersβ
Yep. He's certainly not a Democrat, or a reasonable, intelligent human being. He has no business serving anyone, let alone an entire state.
Brutal. But not surprising. Now I want to move to Canada.
"Trust us, we're from the government."
Look to data. Not government officials.
He's really just a disgusting, offensive human being.
He advocates for violating the rules, but I guarantee you he'd take a ton of offense if rules were being violated in a way thad any negative impact on *him*.
Good point. It's certainly easy to get lost in idealistic discussion vs. trying to work within the reality of what is, and you're 100% right about MH not being one size fits all.
The fun part is to ask Claude or ChatGPT if they think they can replace therapists. They will do a good job of articulating their limitations (as well as their strengths). I have a client who uses chatGPT for certain things and our work for others. They say it helps our sessions be more focused. π€·ββοΈ
BTW, I want to say I appreciate the discussion. It's sparked a lot of useful thinking and questions for me today.
I'm not sure I'd agree that's the real economics of it, though. The environmental and societal costs of LLMs are significant and not being talked about enough. Also, the research so far on 'LLM as therapist' doesn't seem too promising. (Also not saying LLMs don't have value.)
I think the idea of 'external authority' is pretty problematic for sure. If I'm not empowering my clients, I'm failing them. Yes, I have specialized knowledge and expertise ... that I want to *share*, because it's important and valuable for our society at large.
Folks, we're at the point where a Senator is assaulting people, and the media is whitewashing it. Tell the media that's not ok ... and tell their advertisers, too. Especially the advertisers.
Big difference between reading a teleprompter in a studio and dealing with a live audience who's wondering WTF is wrong with you...
Of course there is.
Well, that's one way of looking at it. I figure I'm much more incentivized to *help* my clients, because then they'll talk about how helpful I was, which seems like a good way to get *new* clients. I sure don't want people to be unhappy. π€·ββοΈ
For sure. Powerful things happen when I can turn the judgmental "why are you doing that?" into the curious "huh, I wonder what's going on there?"
Good nudge that I need to get out on the paddleboard sooner, rather than later....
So many possibilities that would do so much good...
I'm pretty sure my daughter and her friends could do a better job than the one our government is doing right now. It would be a hell of a lot kinder, too.
Spanish PM SΓ‘nchez responds to Trump:
"Spain is against this disaster... Govts are here to improve people's lives... It is absolutely unacceptable that those leaders who are unable to fulfill that mission use the smoke of war to hide their failure, and in the process, fill the pockets of a few."
They really should keep him far away from microphones.
This is utterly insane. Polymarket should be ashamed of themselves, as should anyone participating in this,
Itβs unbelievable how stupid they think we are.
Supposedly ChatGPT 5.3 is less βcringeβ. (I wouldnβt know, Iβve deleted it). The problem for OpenAI is that Sam Altman gets more cringe every day, and no update will fix that.
A new study finds that, "even when instructed to use established psychotherapy approaches, [AI chatbots] consistently fail to meet professional ethics standards" for providing mental health advice: www.sciencedaily.com/releases/202...
Ok, all. Trying to rev up my writing engine and start putting some articles together. Curious: when it comes to #boundaries, what are your biggest questions or challenges? #relationships #mentalhealth
I still have yet to watch a single minute of it ... and intend to keep it that way.

And you can bet that virtually none of these people have ever worn a military uniform, let alone seen actual combat. I suspect theyβd be talking about it much differently if they had.
