I think part of it is that Gooseworx directly cited it as an inspiration for Digital Circus. And after listening to the BBC radio drama adaptation (I should listen to the audio version of the book read by Harlan Ellison), I can see some of the parallels.

Hey physical media industry, can we go back to having cases that don't stack the discs on top of each other? My disc one of Avatar The Way of Water 3D has some small scratches making it impossible to rip the movie now.

Turns out that in addition to the first two Pilot Brothers games ScummVM now also supports a handful of other games developed by Russian company "Gamos", ones that aren't adventures. Such as the Windows 9x port of WildSnake!
