I was two months late on a haircut (I’m supposed to go every 10 weeks) and of course it was raining but then it Sun showered as a lil treat.

Among the names that have already tossed around to fill Durbin's seat are former Chicago mayor Rahm Emanuel. "I think it would be catastrophic at every level if he were to become a United States senator," Shiner says. In every role he's held, she says, Emanuel "has consistently shown that he's been willing to compromise core values if he thinks that it's politically expedient. At the end of the day, our country and the people of Illinois are not well served by someone who thinks that political expedience is a priority - and who has also completely misread what is politically expedient. He was quoted in Politico saying that Democrats just could concede USAID as a little treat to Donald Trump, because maybe he'll be satisfied, and USAID might not be popular. We're going to put millions of lives across the world at risk. Why isn't that something worth fighting for?" ®

I will report back! They’re doing it in April — he just picked his figure. His classmates are 4 and 5 so I can’t wait. He loved learning all about MLK on MLK Day. But this is literally my nightstand rn in preparation. We’re both reading for work :)

my son's preschool is doing this. at first, he wanted to be MLK but he was torn because he is named after Jimmy Carter (and also John Lewis). He went with Carter, which I was a little relieved by only because I can dress him like a farmer instead of having to buy him a full suit he won't wear.

Tommy Tuberville actually helped me maintain my capacity for surprise because Ron Johnson did have a legitimate chance before him to be history’s dumbest senator in perpetuity.

Don’t rage post before coffee. You’ll end up saying “has a job” twice when you really mean that this dude does not even have a job at all.

Which is ancillary to my visceral hatred of the United States Senate.

He knows that public opinion is not a constraint. Everyone hating this administration is kerosene on the fire.

this barely animated Russian AI slop bot has a job has a job established by Article I of the Constitution and should have been impeached five years ago

I've never heard of Greg Landsman and he would have, of course, been better off keeping it that way.

(I used to be prohibited from entering the speaker's lobby in a dress without sleeves!!!!

The rule was a lil sexist, probably just like John Fetterman.)

this guy should not be a United States senator. he also should be 100% less Islamophobic and 100% more in a suit. if you don't want to dress professionally, you truly do not have to be at the Capitol!!

IT'S HIS BIRTHDAY 🎉

Just like my grandma used to give me $1 for every year, I tossed $39 into his legal fund ⬇️

Join me if you can: $39 for 39! (HBD Brian🎂!)

in the land of old twitter someone would have instantly created an account "Kristi Noem's Blankie" and it would already have 100,000 followers

Alex Pretti and Renée Good were murdered by federal agents. Soon after, Secretary Noem labeled them 'domestic terrorists.’

I gave her the chance to recant and apologize for the pain she's caused their families with these outrageous lies. She refused.

the intensity of all the things happening at once is really overwhelming. this is not meant to be "doomerism" I guess just a statement of fact. like, remember a time when a day like today would have been an outlier in how much was packed into it and now it's just Wednesday?
