I am going to walk off the nearest mountain. Thankfully there are many
A photo of Pokemon Pokopia, showing Professor Tangrowth and my ditto next to the ruined poke center and PC. Tangrowth is saying "Please, Kat! Figure out what the PC wants!"
bro please leave me alone
Yeah some people forget that for whatever reason
no, but the nature of social media means you're always going to have some fucking nutjobs. which i can say because i don't work for bsky. that's separate from the specific issue at hand tho, and i agree it's a massive problem
Sorta both! Dell had memberships for Udemy and eventually LinkedIn Learning. I did a couple of crisis comms courses on Udemy, super valuable
Oh yeah he earned it lmao
But I think most DAs have this kind of fuckup eventually. Lord knows I have
I don't actually think this guy has fucked up catastrophically. His mentions are just going to be shitty for a while, it'll be embarrassing, and he'll have maybe one awkward conversation with his manager. This is a *~learning moment~*
I got comms training a couple years ago, which developer advocates do not commonly have. This drama is a REAL good argument for making that mandatory for your teams lmao
Anyway lol, lmao
DevRel is in a weird spot where we're expected to be "one of you," but also expected to be a public rep for the company. We rarely have comms training (though I do), which I think is unfortunate. He fumbled hard here no doubt, and I think one fuckup would be whatever if he'd recovered well, but alas
It would've hit if someone who isn't employed to represent bsky users and devs had said it but from you it definitely read like you don't think much of the users. Personally I would entirely stop with the casual "I'm just like y'all" tone until this drama blows over, it won't be interpreted that way
man I hear you but free advice, you cannot call your users conspiracy brained when you're a developer advocate. we give up some of our ability to Post when we take titles like that, they are eating you up in the quote skeets lol
Lol yeah sorry, Washington. But Waterloo is welcome to reach out!
LMAO
Every once in a while I get asked to give a guest lecture at some university, and I dropped out of college myself, so that's always an interesting feeling
Anyway hello UW engineering students
I believe in you!
oh yeah to be clear i very much consider myself licensed enough, i got my own like 5 years ago and operated under my dad's growing up. I'm trying to convince Sam to get more on the air lol
oh man I have a buddipole too, great purchase. go touch grass and talk radio
Weirdos. My callsign is KA7COS, say hi if you ever hear me
It's wicked convenient. I was out doing PotA with a friend and he realized he forgot the mic, no problem though because the ICOM can connect to your fucking phone and use it as a mic
There are more hams following me than I thought
I would definitely call the 7300 portable, in that it can be operated mobile instead of needing to be chained to my desk lol
what's licensed enough? i'm a general, not amateur extra
He's mesmerized by the ICOM app. It can connect to your phone and be operated largely from that. I've used it and it IS cool
I care about portability and quality of life features more than I care about being able to work VHF. Second choice was a Yaesu FT-991A, but my dad has the Yaesu and wishes he had the ICOM
Weird nerds: can you think of a reason why I would want anything else in the price range other than the ICOM IC-7300 MKII
Excited to verify ID with my toaster, which has wifi and runs gentoo for some fucking reason
Are any of y'all with kids ever tempted to respond to a tantrum with "Oooh no tears, please. It's a waste of good suffering"
that IS interesting. in that case, this just looks like someone got a little overzealous with blurs. doesn't scream AI to me? I'm not sure why OP is so certain
I'm confident I could fuck up the photo on the left into something like the photo on the right with the pirated copy of CS6 on my 2015 MacBook Pro and like 20 minutes of going crazy on sliders + sharpening repeatedly
