Fun fact, the creator of EGA Trek lives (or lived at the time) in Framingham, MA, a few towns over from where I was born and raised.

I wish just ONE Indian recruiter or manager had some self-awareness for how difficult their accent makes it to understand them. I draw them using a <canvas> element exactly 2 times the size of the original game's Main Viewer screen (129x87 to 258x174) and a free font called Michroma that resembles one of the TOS movie-era fonts (Microgramma Medium Extended) to draw the text. Even built my own canvas wrapper JS framework too!

Oh, yeah, let's not forget about the "Main Viewer", probably one of the most complex parts of the game, believe it or not. I catalogued all 10 screens that are displayed alternately with the "targeted view" that shows the closest object(s) in a pseudo-3D view. Only 3 of them are useful. Guess which!

I've been making an EGA Trek clone in JavaScript called JSTrek. I built the UI and have moved on to gameplay. Stars and Klingon ships have been placed, but I JUST got long-range scanners working! BEHOLD.
