If you took $1 billion and gave it to the endowment of a different small college each day, they could each provide a free college education to several hundred students per year in perpetuity. Instead we are using that money to bomb schools and kill students in Iran, for no clearly stated purpose.

My favs are Love's Labour's Lost and As You Like It. The actual "best" are probably Hamlet and Macbeth, but I really love it when my goofy little guys are ruining around being silly and doing gender at each other.

The Massachusetts Department of Correction has been fighting me for months, trying to withhold data about its collaboration with ICE.

Yesterday, I won that fight, and obtained records showing that the state has transferred more than 2,000 people into ICE custody since 2009.

The economic structures that produce the ultra rich are the same that produce ecological collapse, climate change, international conflict, and human exploitation. In fact the wealthy cannot become wealthy without these effects. Global capitalism and imperialism rob the many to enrich the few.

If this swing holds in the November elections, Republicans may lose a Senate seat, several gerrymandered House seats, with the governorship suddenly in play. Even if it doesn’t happen, Rs will have to pump a ton of resources into the state just to hold it.

As someone from hurricane country, I've survived no few hurricanes and too many carpetbaggers in their aftermaths. This piece is wonderfully and frustratingly accurate. I hope "the main character has a punchable face" comes across as the high compliment I intend it to be.
