Today marks 3 years of using the 'Weil' avatar base <3 The date, and the base is really special to me, because the author asked me to beta test it before release~ Working to shape and adjust clothes is hard, but I feel really lucky to have such a unique identity within our scene 🌸

I meant it more like "If these things change, more optimized events can happen" not "X was better than Y"🌸 The tech last night used heavy cameras, but the custom shader (instead of poiyomi/etc) rendering everyone sped things up for lots of users. The first link has my thoughts on modern VRC lighting

They would not 💐 fallback avis/robots are meshes with verts & tris, and they can receive light and color from projectors and shader cameras just as well as normal avis. Imposters are only a few floating 2d squares. They use proprietary shaders/data to appear 3D. They cannot receive shaders properly

I put down your "Vj set" dimming the lights for the first 10min 😅 but I guess that was too short so it concatenated

Disabling Avatar Imposters at a world, or instance level | World/Udon Bugs & Feature Requests | VRChat Imposters are amazing, but they can clash with many creative and interesting effects world creators can use within VRC.

absolutely electric energy at @okgold.ca's "identica" event last night, one of the most immersive and lag-free experiences I've had thanks to the unique shader system and amazing world design

If you need a rendertexture, I really like the 'VideoRT' tool that's mentioned in the AreaLit documentation~

I've still yet to meet a 3D audio source that flatters a DJ more than a direct-to-your-ears stereo. If your video player is exploding, ditch it. One AVPro component, one speaker component, and a few lines of udon to resync it is all you need to run live events. There's an ex. prefab in VRCSDK files

Last month JP clothier BEAMS made a VR fashion zine as part of a collab with Fujifilm🌸 They used a shot that @sumav.bsky.social took of me at a #VRChat fashion meet w/ details on my clothes~ I got sent a copy of the zine that was shown at their event in Shibuya and in Fujifilm's store~ Very cool <3

I've always been curious, what's your motivation for making and maintaining this list? Have you just always been a hardware enthusiast, and this is a fun way to combine that passion with work? Or is this more meant as a general guide, with the 'Best' aspect being more of an attention grabbing title?
