one of the most damaging developments of basically every digital store that sells video games has been the complete transition to charts-based recommendations. top lists steer us towards a winner takes all community.
top lists don’t paint the full picture. they have their place, but lack editorial.
i really believe indie game devs can only ‘innovate’ if there’s ample opportunity for their experiments to generate a sustainable income.
we all know the ability to generate that income is increasingly at risk, yet stores & platforms never seem to understand & take their responsibility in this

At the end, when it seem like thing may work out, the straight guy take a gun and shoot the gay guy in the face.
It's very unsettling.
