This was a fun side quest for me. Targeting low-end hardware has definitely been a nice challenge. How would you guys have tackled this? And what do we think could be improved on?
6) After messing around with post-processing settings we get something that looks a fair bit better and conveys what I wanted to in the first place. SFX also does a lot of the heavy lifting in tying things together. This specific sound I believe I got in a humble bundle long ago.
5) It now looks pretty ugly. So how do we get around this? Easy, by abusing post-processing.
4) The actual setup is super simple. It's just a render texture on a quad playing the video from the video player component with a camera in front of it. We can enable all these game objects under one parent whenever necessary. However, we have a new problem.
3) After enabling super simple settings I compress the file down to 6mb.
2) After importing into Unity the default size is around 30mb. While this isn't bad, for me this is a no-no. I am targeting mobile devices, low-end computers, and web browsers. So I'd prefer to eat up the least amount of storage as possible.
1.5) This is what I ended up with. Do whatever you want this render if you don't wanna follow the tutorial.
1) Follow this Blender tutorial. I'm a programmer, not an artist, but I know my way around Blender enough to follow a tutorial and slightly change things around to my liking. www.youtube.com/watch?v=QPJP...
One of my favorite visual effects for my game was this neat teleporting sequence. How I did this isn't anything new or revolutionary, but it was still a fun little process. Let's go over how I did this and optimized it.
ARMS!
Oh! I didnβt even see this! I only saw the unity asset. Iβll be looking at these and get the full version if these work great!
After finding your models I instantly liked them more. Iβm just curious if the models are one skinned mesh renderer per zombie.
meeee!!!! :D
Had to do it to em
I will now plug my current game project. Itβs a remake of one of my first games. Itβs a small zombie shooter heavily influenced by classic COD zombies.
