When demand is overstated, PJM buys more power than we need, & families end up paying the cost.
Right now, ratepayers are being charged for projected electricity demand that may never materialize. Utilities & grid operators are forecasting huge new power needs from large industrial users, especially data centers, even when those projects are still uncertain/appear in multiple states’ forecasts

Families across Pennsylvania and the PJM region saw higher electric bills this winter, and the freezing temperatures we experienced are only a small part of the story.
It was also wonderful to catch up with Miss Clark, now in her fourth year of teaching at Reeceville. Her experience as a student teacher helped inspire my legislation that created the Student Teacher Support Program, which is now helping aspiring educators across Pennsylvania. 🍎✨
It was inspiring to hear these young students talk about what makes them special & how they can help create more “purple schools” in their own community. As someone who works with folks from all walks of life, the message of listening, understanding, & working together is one we can all learn from.
The book celebrates how people with different backgrounds and ideas can come together to make something special, and it encourages students to use their “purple skills” to find common ground while appreciating what makes each of us unique. 💜
Each day, the class welcomes a surprise guest to share a story from a different author. This year, I read The World Needs More Purple Schools by Benjamin Hart and Kristen Bell.
📚✨ It is Read Across America Week, and one of my favorite traditions has become joining Miss Clark’s first grade classroom at Reeceville Elementary School in the Coatesville Area School District as their Mystery Reader.

PennDOT is seeking input from Pennsylvanians on traffic safety and driving behaviors through an online survey available through Feb. 28.
The survey was designed to help inform PennDOT on how the Shapiro administration can continue to improve traffic safety- and save lives- across the Commonwealth.
It’s wonderful to see two students from our community 𝑏𝑒𝑒 among the top spellers in the county. Their curiosity, preparation, and love of learning are inspiring examples for students across Central Chester County. 🐝💛📖
Yohaan will go on to represent Chester County at the Scripps National Spelling Bee in Washington, D.C., and we wish him all the best as he takes the national stage. 🌟

I see many things to be hopeful about in this budget, and I look forward to getting to work on the 2026-2027 budget season.
I was also happy to hear the governor’s focus on energy affordability, accessible housing, increases in the Student Teacher Stipend, and continued investment in education funding as we work to fill the adequacy gaps for our public schools.
This legislation will help to support our children’s mental and physical health as well as their social and emotional development and ensure that they have the opportunity to be physically active and interact with others during their school day.
I was ecstatic to hear @governor.pa.gov mention mandatory recess for students across PA. It’s a bill I’ve been working on ever since I joined the legislature. We know that students feel better and do better when they have time to exercise and play.
