On the top is the photo of Luc(as) de Groot, typedesigner, and Calibri creator. The text follows: I designed Calibri to make reading on computer screens easier. In 2006 Microsoft chose it to replace Times New Roman as the default font in the Office suite, for good reasons: Times creates visual noise on typical office screens, which can be problematic for people with impaired vision, such as many older users. Calibri, on the other hand, performs exceptionally well at small sizes and across a wide range of resolutions. The LucasFonts logo is at the bottom.
A screenshot of the comparison of the Calibri and Times New Roman at 11 points on the typical office displays. The text follows: On a typical office screen, the serifs of Times New Roman introduce visual disturbance and make the text difficult to read. The LucasFonts logo is at the bottom.
Ditching Calibri as a “wasteful diversity” font is both hilarious and sad.
Here's a quick reminder of what Calibri actually is and why it matters. (1/2)
A bright blue poster displaying the word “Calibri” in large black type. Below it reads “Available at lucasfonts.com,” with the LucasFonts logo shown at the bottom.
Designed by Luc(as) de Groot in 2006, Calibri became one of the world’s most-used typefaces and the default of Microsoft Office for over a decade. Now you can finally get Calibri – and its mono partner Consolas – directly from our shop.

CorpidMono is a perfect tool for projects that need a clean, methodical "on the grid" look.
Supports Latin Extended, Greek, and Cyrillic scripts (including Bulgarian forms). Corpid Mono is also available as variable fonts. Download a free trial or license it at www.lucasfonts.com/fonts/corpid...
Monospaced fonts (or fixed-width, non-proportional fonts) have characters that occupy the same amount of horizontal space. This means that letters, such as the narrow "i" and the wide "w," are given the same width, resulting in distortion that makes "i" appear wider and "w" appear slimmer.
! New Child in the Corpid Family:
Corpid Mono retains the same humanistic nature as Corpid but also includes the mechanical quirks (or charm) of monospaced fonts.
