"Sustainability" here is in the form of quietly asking for Traveler groups to not only perform a harvest of intermediate (honey) but also to investigate what the fuck is going on so they can make plans around it: either working with a lifestyle change or getting things back to normal.

To do so requires more food, more death, and as I've mentioned, the several hives under the control of the corrupted queen have decided to be the harbingers of the past tense.

To continue unchecked would in fact kill off most life in the Fyev.

Humans are coming to terms with that.

As the Fyev population increases or decreases, they tend to follow suit to maintain the ecosystem.

The consequence of not adhering to this is that they're both all living longer and reproducing at a rate larger than before, which is upsetting the balance they're meant to be a part of.

Typically, and we're approaching my "what if?" scenario, asalvyr and their hives are kept in check by the fact that their queens don't live long enough to develop higher level strategy and direction to send a hive beyond their base instincts.

Most of the Fyev is not inhabited by humans, so it is mostly untouched equitorial rainforest filled with both normal flora and fauna in addition to beluan species undoubtedly descended from humbler beginnings (those flora and fauna).

They live, they die, they get decomposed, they live again.

This happened with Septy too, and I know it's likely the result of being on this kind of micro-blogging/quick consume site, but it's very curious to me.

I think one of the more interesting things with a narrowly focused prompt game (like my preference to run) is seeing it randomly end up with people who won't look up the intent of what it's about.

It makes sense the more I think on it. Particularly with the whole folks out there probably live longer lives because of what they take from the Fyev makes it's ethically correct for them to return/contribute to it.

Given I'm merging that fucked up fungus creature with a plant snake, the actual incident will likely be mild body horror instead of violence alone.

Mana's not ok for a bit but does "move on," so it's also a sign of her weird compartmentalizing she gets from me (as her son DOESN'T have that).

TL;DR: it's based off of a fat L I took with two of my favorite normal types in my first run, before the big haxorus L, of my watchog and cinccino, where my rival's serperior unfortunately got a bit too many coils off and my normal types were soft doughy physical attackers. 😭
