Everyone is talking about how being friends with Epstein should have barred Mandelson from the role. But I thought that being a friend of a friend of Trump was the whole point?
Hmm, if Sky (or the NowTV part of it) loses the HBO content, I'll be unsubscribing from that.
So the c-suite find massive productivity improvements from AI, but regular workers don't... So the most senior positions should be most at risk of replacement?
Travelling to london for an "Accessible digital futures" event, mostly around use of AI in education and accessibility. I think. Will find out.
Last section of the email which reads: "I realize this project sounds kind of boring. But one, it offered me a chance to see what Moltbot could do with all of those services I had stitched together. Two, if it worked, I would create something unique to me that I wouldn't have been able to build myself. And finally - which I realized only at the end of the process - the specific ways in which it broke persuaded me to uninstall Moltbot from my computer. Upgrade to continue reading." And then. it shows an upgrade button.
Normally I read the emails, find them interesting and move on with my day. This time you left such a cliffhanger... you got me.
@bsky.app could you test videos in the iOS app please? I keep getting trapped and having to quit the app. It goes full screen, and after a while stops responding to any tap or swipe.
Yarp: front right is phone, left for keys and headphone case, back pockets for litter (until I walk past a bin).
Iβve given up on wallet and coins, but they used to be left pocket.
If they did that, would people know who they meant? I probably wouldnβt.
Last week I spoke at the #Virtua11y conference on "AI for good accessibility". Rather than just throw in random examples, I tried to evaluate when and where the newer AI approaches can be useful for accessibility.

Interesting that a design system has stopped using toast messages due to "their accessibility and usability issues".

Useful ammunition/documentation for people in teams trying to do the same.
I do wonder if in future we'll be able to joke that:
They came for the NHS, and nothing was done.
They came for the Jaguars, and nothing was done.
They came for the beer, and holy crap did they unload on the criminals!
An old small Nokia. The outer shell is a fine white powder that comes off on my fingers.
The rubber bumper on my old Nokia literally disintegrated.
(Found it whilst cleaning out some old boxes. I think it's just over 20 years old.)
I felt it necessary to resort to 24pt bold text in an email, saying: "Screenreader users do not tab through content!!"
Having run a training session (admittedly in their second language) and emphasized that aspect, the follow-up needed to be very clear.
The next update for the WCAG 3 draft is here, the article is a few thoughts from the chairs, and links to the draft and the WCAG 3 Introduction.

I'll try not to think about the Jackie Chan aspect when I watch it, that's a high bar to reach (given Chan's abilities).
Did anyone else think the chair was pixelated? It isn't, but I had to go full-screen to tell. Hmm, maybe I've watched my kids on minecraft too much.
@newsagents.bsky.social re Maxwell, if I had been involved I would be very nervous. I expect her to grass on everyone *except* Trump. So she can walk, Trump is clear, and others take the punishmen.
These are now part of the glossary update, which will be merged soon. github.com/w3c/wcag3/pu...
A while ago, I posted about βviewsβ, a new definition we've been working on.
Good news, we resolved on using a specific definition (draft). Updated my post to explain: hidde.blog/views/#headi...
thanks to all who chimed in, and specifically the efforts of co-chair @alastairc.uk to make this happen
A moany post about the local playground, with only the most relevant comments showing, which is none.
Amused that for almost all the person posts on Facebook (by local people or people I know) all the comments are filtered out by default as not-relevant.
We had a pretty long period of 'free' stuff as there was a land-grab for users, with few safeguards. Now they have to turn a profit and put in safeguards, so the products become less attractive.
An online find-a-nanny service doesn't let you send a phone number. Unless you do "My phone is zero, seven..."
My inner Beavis is chanting "breakin' the law, breakin' the law"
Damnit, they get me every time. I think I have an addiction.

That fear in me escalated when on a Japanese platform and one train split into two and left in different directions⦠and I cannot read Japanese.
Received an email where the first line included "compliance is my passion". Admittedly they are an accountant, but it still made me shudder.
I finally got around to jotting down a few notes on using my Ray-Ban Meta Glasses:

I'm got a question about which type of CAPTCHA is best for accessibility. I found my self saying: It's like asking whether sea water is more dry than tap water, they are both intrinsically wet!
Wow, I guess blank page leaves it all to the "imagination". Do you get the same kind of thing each time, or are the topics very different? If they are similar, presumably that says something about the stats of the training data?
Apple's recipe thing, which is part of the News app seems great. Interesting recipes, clear structure and no ads popping up on you.
Main problem: How the *bleep* do you find it? It is in the "today" feed if you scroll down a lot, but it is something you need to get straight to, with a button.
I'm looking forward to the Magnifier feature on MacOS: www.macworld.com/article/2780...
My vision isn't too bad, but I'm old enough that small print on paper is an issue. Also, it could be an adaptable tool for hybrid meetings with whiteboard or paper-based things!
