From my perspective I've been able to create tools that are helping slowly re-train new behaviors in me that no therapist, pills, class, have come close to effecting in the past.

It's not a gotcha, maybe you are used to arguing on the internet for sport. I am well past that.

It's a genuine ask. I built tools that help me do the stuff I already know how to do far more efficiently and effectively that compensate for learning disabilities.

I created tools that help me.

And if I'm not using my AGI tools to create art? Or in a creative manner? If for my purposes my tools that I have built and run locally to aid me in my work are functionally no different than the socket sets, screwdrivers, ratchets, Mitutoyo calipers, wrenches, that already exist in my toolchests?

If you're a gearhead, you get it. If you're not, you do not.

If you feel seen and this stance irks you, you likely spend most your time just parroting popular opinion and edgy takes of the status quo on Social Media. Instead of mustering a backbone and using your brain without training wheels.

I enjoy the process of building and tuning engines for my hot rods. Both mechanical and digital. It calms my mind, brings me peace. It is after all just an engine, a machine, a puzzle to be solved, mastered, iterated, and improved upon.

A gearhead, a true gearhead, sees an engine with a potential to hot rod.

I like building hot rods in my tiny garage by myself.

They are low, lean, sleek, and fast. On my own custom hardware. I tune them, tweak them, run them till they break bad, figure out why, rebuild them, and start all over.

I sectioned out the bad bits of corrugated hose and then some. Printed up 3/4 inch barbs. And spliced in some overkill scrap irrigation hose from the farm with enough length for proper routing and strain relief. Dabbed up the barbs with a bit of silicone, because why not?

In the pursuit of Science I grabbed my clipboard and ran a test flight with a full load of dirty dishes. No leaks, no fire, no sparks. No destroyed dishes. Nobody died during the unloading process. And the dishes were actually clean and dry.

Functionality. One more repair checked off the list.

Took the time to run a proper chassis ground directly to a true earth ground which has eliminated the Tickle me Elmo effect noted when meat completed the circuit between the dishwasher and the sink.

All the 'wet' circuits in the house are getting proper grounds and GFCI outlets. No more jank.

Whomever installed the dishwasher at Italy House:
1 ~ Stretched the corroguated plastic drain hose like a guitar string around hard corners so as it heat cycled it sprung more leaks than a colander.
2 ~ Did not bother to ensure it was properly grounded. So touching the sink and washer was... spicy.
