Doug Ford is handing tax dollars out to his friends while blowing $billions on an unnecessary convention centre on a magical island and his 401 tunnel vision. We need to focus on actual priorities, including healthcare, education, jobs, housing affordability and transit.

John Tory and I have had differences of opinion, even contention, but I’ve never doubted his love for our city. John has been a civic leader and a philanthropist for many worthy causes for years. I hope that his next chapter finds him, and those he loves, healthy and well.

Holi hai! As we welcome Spring, the Festival of Colors reminds us of the power of hope, renewal, and the triumph of good over evil. It is a time to let go of negativity and embrace joy and love.

The Astral contract should be thrown in the garbage where it belongs. The bins break & overflow, the info (ad) signs clutter our sidewalks & they’re poorly maintained. This should come back in-house to provide better service, accountability & a cleaner, more beautiful Toronto.

We’re working together to bring Raymond Moriyama’s architectural masterpiece, the Ontario Science Centre we loved, back to life to be enjoyed as a cultural institution for the next generation of Ontarians. We’ll have an announcement soon about community meetings in April.

This pretty picture is of the province’s smaller Science Centre near their private spa at Ontario Place. The price tag is $1.4 billion. The existing building only requires about $350 mil over 20 years (and about $30 mil for priority repairs). All this based on the AG report.

The Ford government privatized Toronto’s recycling pick up program and service either declined or wasn’t provided at all. I’m demanding accountability, and that the premier fix what he broke- a basic service that had been working predictably and reliably for decades.

Here in Toronto-St. Paul’s, we initiated an emotion-focused approach to Long-Term Care in Toronto & created CareTO to expand it across the city. I’m delighted to see the province follow our example, to reform the quality of care in LTC throughout Ontario. www.thestar.com/politics/pro...

I’m asking the City to actively repair, and prioritize, the many streets that have been damaged this winter with potholes, some significantly big- that can damage vehicles and create real safety hazards. If you see a pothole that needs filling, please call 311 or use the 311 app.

Last night, Dan Seljak, my amazing team & I turned Toronto’s city council chambers into a cinema-and enjoyed a thoughtful conversation about ways to improve our city with a packed room of caring, creative & engaged residents. It was truly beautiful. No marshmallows were involved.

Little Jamaica should be respected, reflected and celebrated in new Eglinton Crosstown LRT stations such as Cedarvale, Oakwood and Fairbank. I’m working on a motion to bring to the next TTC board meeting.
