We use 30 year averages to show climatology (average weather conditions). During the 20th century the UK climatology followed a path around a confined box. With #globalwarming and #climatechange they have escaped out the box. This #dataviz shows UK rainfall and temperature.

Here in the UK it is cold and wet but there is at least the positive that the days are getting longer quite rapidly now. At 51 degrees north where I live we will gain an extra 24 minutes of daylight this week as this #dataviz shows.

Should be possible if we have the daily data, can even do stations with daily sunshine for more resolution.

Not sure I understand, the x axis is date of the year and the y axis is a comparison to a long term average.

Hi Enrico, thanks, yes it is done using gggplot2 in R, although to stitch it all together I am using image magick as I haven't worked out how to make a mega plot just using R!

Have you noticed that around the winter solstice the latest sunrise and earliest sunset do not coincide? This is because the earth day is very rarely 24 hours. This means solar noon is changing faster than day length is changing. This #dataviz shows this for London sunrise and sunset times.
