Bringing this to the top (again). I saw another driver in a full size pickup truck with a 5-6" aftermarket lift kit/wheels/tires, driving on Gerrard, and doing everything possible to swerve/drive around every possible 'puny' manhole cover. I guess, these trucks aren't all that. #bikeTO #walkTO
I remain optimistic that in 2026 the City will install more cycling infrastructure to Scarborough. #bikeTO #ScarbTO

Hey #ScarbTO, I guess the Durham-Scarborough Bus Rapid Transit project has not been cancelled, contrary to the puzzling announcement of its cancellation by a local MPP, right before the last election. #ward25 #Scarborough

Nice. I need some tips for the east end. #bikeTO
My community has been working on bringing complete street safety improvements to Scarborough pm Danforth Ave and Kingston Rd for the past four years... and we are a vote away. youtu.be/r16_mWIM5EI #WalkTO #bikeTO #ScarbTO #Ward20 cc @cycletoronto.bsky.social
Local residents (mostly seniors) ride year round in Scarborough and bike racks are always well utilized at Woodside Mall. Building bike culture here means providing ample bike parking that is covered from the elements, well-lit, and conveniently by the entrance.

Nice work … a direct reflection of your leadership.

We have unfortunate news about passengers under 16 on e-bikes and e-cargo bikes in Ontario. It appears, they are not allowed. Read our blog for a deep dive on the law and what you can do in response:

Many thanks for the warm invite and for the opportunity to talk to you all about my experiences incubating cycling in the suburbs. I learned a lot too! The #ottbike community has many strong community connections and potential partnerships are plenty! Thanks for the swag, wore it today, perfect fit!

O no. I haven’t watched it yet.
In Ontario criminal vigilantism is acceptable, effective & can influence government policy. When Doug Ford gives his tacit approval of criminal vigilantism, indicating it can influence his government's public policy, it's a frightening moment for Ontario. My column on what we should think about.
Milan's separated bike lanes look nice. #bikeTO
Does a pickup's high front-end compensate for the driver's wee little cargo space? We don't think so. Every 10cm increase in front-end height = 22% increase in death risk to pedestrian in crash. Meanwhile, cargo space has remained largely the same. #onpoli www.walktoronto.ca/wp-content/u...
The politicization of #bikeTO has made it all the way to the @nytimes.com .

While driving behind drivers in large SUVs/pickup trucks I find it amusing to watch these drivers take great care to drive around manhole covers and small bumps in the road. (But, but, I thought these vehicles were meant for serious off-road adventures as portrayed in their ads?) #bikeTO
Great work on your panel LBJ! It made me reflect on the broader #bikeTO present-day narrative.
Thank you David!

Delighted to learn that the Inuit do have many words for snow, after all (long thought to be an urban legend). www.scientificamerican.com/article/ling...
Anti RapidTO Poster from "Protect Bathurst WE MIGHT HAVE TO CLOSE! BATHURST IS LOSING ACCESS. SO ARE WE. Due to the RapidTO changes, TATTOO PEOPLE TORONTO will lose all delivery access and customer parking - putting your community at serious risk. NO TRUCKS. NO CUSTOMERS. NO WAY TO OPERATE. SPEAK UP + TAKE ACTION Visit protectbathurst.ca to learn more & voice your support.
Per txlseries4 on Urban Toronto, some businesses along Bathurst were spotted putting up these awful anti #RapidTO signs in their windows. Time to name and #shame these businesses as the #BikeTO community has done with businesses which opposed bike lanes. #TTC #TOpoli urbantoronto.ca/forum/thread...
“A review of scientific research has found that pedestrians and cyclists are 44% more likely to be killed in a collision with an SUV or light truck, compared to a passenger car.
The outlook is even more dire for children, who are 82% more likely to be killed when struck by the larger vehicles.”
10 days after the last snowstorm, this is the state of the sidewalk beside Birch Cliff PS.
A slippery, inaccessible, sidewalk, forcing those with mobility aids/strollers/etc. to walk beside live traffic.
Please tell me more about the 'war on the car'.

Major safety improvements are coming to #ScarbTO with the Ellesmere Complete Street. New sidewalks/cycle tracks will connect key destinations (UTSC, Centennial College, Centenary Hospital, Meadoway).
