Was Final Fantasy VII too linear?
Ty and Aidan dig into OPM's 1997 review of Final Fantasy VII and look at how its criticism's that the classic game is "too linear" match with creator Hironobu Sakaguchi's cinematic ambitions.
Theyβre calling this a reverse Chotiner.

The Ever Given. A large container ship.
I always found this critique to be so strange & it's the same reason I love Remake & not Rebirth.
The Midgar section is so tight & compelling narratively while showing you the ropes. It goes off the rails when you aimlessly search for Sephiroth for an entire disc, before finding its footing again.
Hell yeah!

You had one job, bro.
(Iβve been tested, haha, but, yes.)
But, also, what five hour game?
This is the way.
I donβt have ADHD, but this is very relatable.
Managed to save the VOD of yesterdayβs Illusion of Gaia stream because I had a local recording from OBS. Come watch me embarrass myself against the gameβs first boss.

My hand holding a Sony NEX-6 camera.
Picked up a Sony NEX-6 and kit lens off Marketplace for a dime. Itβs old, but with a couple small hacks can produce clean 1080p/60 video over HDMI, so Iβm primarily going to use it as a webcam.
That said, it also seems like a great walkabout kitβnot nearly as big and bulk as my Canon 5D.

Who's ready to release a video game? @panic.com gave me the chance to colorize my little @play.date adventure game Ratcheteer and bring it to a wider audience on Steam and, most exciting to me (and the kids), the Nintendo Switch! It's out today: ratcheteer.com www.youtube.com/watch?v=cy3e...
knob
Itβs beautiful.
I've been informed this is the way it's supposed to be because apparently it makes you look like you're running with a flag and I just lost three years of my life due to cringe exposure.
They⦠wear it backwards?
knob
Itβs beautiful.
The backwards American flag on her shoulder is the best part.

It's big.
