As Director on Hi-Fi RUSH, it feels particularly exciting to have a version of the game that players can hold in their hands. For me, I remember when I was younger and a new music album came out, I would go over the packaging, the liner notes, the disk design, and everything felt like a complete package. For music, when listening to it, there would be a color or visual in my head that was inspired by the design of the physical format. Those images I had stay with me to this day when I listen to that music so I know connecting with something physically can add a sensation that is abstract, yet emotionally tactile. Now that I am older and media has become more digital, I feel less attached to my music, my games, my movies and more, but I also appreciate the convenience of having everything I need digitally at my fingertips. But for something that I consider uniquely special, something that resonates with me, I still seek out a version that I can hold, display, and have that child-like enthusiasm for. Hi-Fi RUSH was a game built from the heart of not just me, but the whole development team at Tango Gameworks. One of the first questions the team and I asked was "can we make a physical version?" For some games that may be a business decision, but for us it's because it is that something uniquely special. Based on the voices of our passionate fans, we can tell that it's also something that resonates with all of you as well. I just wish it could have been done sooner, but if having your own copy of Hi-Fi RUSH means even a fraction of what it does for myself, I know it'll have been worth the wait.
