Is it time for another sacking? It’s Friday morning, and I don’t want to do the math. But I watched that Spurs match last night and… there’s something rotten in Tottenham.

Not saying that it’s Tudor’s fault—at all! But he’ll get the blame.

I feel bad for Carrick. I think there was nothing obviously wrong with the strategy. I like that he made changes. But the players didn’t look sharp. They didn’t attack enough and hold possession in the opposition’s half. It was a sad reminder of the Everton match, for me.

It’s so hard to be a United fan.

“This decision is final” is something you say when you expect people to not take you seriously or when you genuinely regret your action. It’s also a good setup for a joke later.

I’m also required to admit, every time Arsenal drop points, there’s an irrational and irresponsible part of me that fully believes, with a sincere conviction, that United can win the title race. I’m not the only United fan who has this strange impulse. And it deserves to be mocked. But I love it.

No matter what happens today, remember: it’s still, deep down, a good day. Arsenal dropped points against Wolves and are now only 5 points ahead of City, who have a game in hand (and play the Magpies next).

Whatever is going on in life + yesterday’s EPL result = at least a few smiles today 😁

Acknowledging that averages are not always good predictors, it’s still fun to imagine a season w/ 3 shakeups yet to come.

And even though most teams are underperforming this season, I don’t think anyone else will get sacked. If anything, maybe Forest will fire someone for a 4th time.

Sure, it’d be more “fun” if the goal stood. But then what are rules?

🎵Regrets… I have a few…🎵

Well, I ended up doing a different irresponsible thing: refusing the Wild Card and making 1 regular transfer, betting on Bournemouth keeping a clean sheet against Wolves today.

I’m currently winning our fantasy league, “loser does the dishes,” by 13 points. Can’t mess this up.

“with a face like a fist and a voice of sheet metal,” really got me. 😂 Tomorrow’s my creative writing day and, honestly, I’m inspired. Also this:

I’d guess the 2nd because of how repetitive it is. The melodically static, syncopated parts make me feel like it’s an important lyric whose setting was more focused on clarity and the naturalness of speech than melody… Though that could be reason for it to be the verse… But I’m gonna go 2 is chorus!

Disappointing of course, and I hope he keeps in good health and spirits during the recovery.

Manchester United do not need a The Crown- style series. If a tv show must be made, if someone absolutely needs that money, may I suggest a Succession-like dramedy about the Glazers’ 20+ years of ownership. The debt, the mismanagement, the degrading quality of football, the protests. The drama 🎭

Coming up on 8 years in France, 5 years working full-time in a Francophone environment, and my English has gotten worse. I’m now more likely to misspell a homophone than not on the first try.
