It’s comic book style violence adds a different style to standard action fair. Plus any film where Gillan, Headey, Gigino, Yoah, Basset get fight their way through goon upon goon I’m in.

The Front Room ⭐️⭐️ 4/10 IMDb

Brandy is really good in this! Hunter is also good but her character is vile. The problem is it’s mostly a nasty film that doesn’t know which genre it full wants to be in. The Eggers brothers mix a few genres to play with you. But I glad they went with the ending!

Maybe it just wasn’t right, I’d rather it be right that taint it.

Gutted to hear New Sunnydale isn’t moving forward. But I’ve still got 7 seasons of Buffy and 5 of Angel to keep me going.

Ann Dowd, Martha Plimpton and Jason Issac’s are so good in this brilliant written and moving discussion of the aftermath of a tragic event.
Franz script is very clever and touching, without being in your face.

Book of Love ⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5/10 IMDb

With likeable turns from its leads, this is an easy but predictable watch.

Tranquil in its pace, but beautifully told journey through one man’s eyes. Edgerton is a perfectly gruff but loving in portrayal of Grainier, nicely back up the supporting cast. Plus the cinematography is lovely.

The Wish s3x9 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Love an alternate reality, and this episodes gives us so much greatness. Vamp Willow/Xander, little more Master, dark Sunnydale due to Buffy having not come along. Okay the Master factory is daft! But we can overlook that. Also we get the introduction of Anya.

Lovers Walk s3x8 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Spike’s return brings chaos for everyone, and lots of fun too. From his catch up with Joyce to finding his mojo again. Masters showing why he would make a welcome member of the cast.

Revelations s3x7 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Xander’s such a twat to Buffy in this episode. Totally feel Giles when he speaks about feeling betrayed.
And it’s our first Buffy/Faith showdown. Miss Post is fun but so obviously going to be a baddy.

Cinema Trip 25 in 2026

Mother’s Pride ⭐️⭐️⭐️ 6/10 IMDb

Quaint as English village, this was such a nice natured easy watch. With its predictable yet likeable plot and it’s easy to get on with characters. Plus Jonno Davis is easy on eye, even in his increasingly odd outfits.

Band Candy s3x6 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Another fun episode, filled with great moments as the adults regress. Snyder is fun. Giles/Joyce is brill and we get a hint of Ripper.
Plus we get Ethan’s return again, more Mayor and Buffy’s not so great driving skills.

Homecoming s3x5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

A simple concept done well, Buffy/Cordelia’s competition is fun, as is the Slayfest.
Plus we get the lovely moment with Willow/Xander which leads to their first kiss.
Plus we get a returning character and the first appearance of the Mayor.

Beauty and the Beasts s3x4 ⭐️⭐️⭐️

The creature of the week stuff is limp, Scott Hope is too nice, so you can tell he won’t stick around.
Savage Angel saving Buffy is nice and the way he falls to his knees after recognising her is genuine.
The Oz stuff doesn’t have tension but it gives some fun beats

Faith, Hope & Trick s3x3 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Faith is a great new character from the off, and you can tell they knew what to do with her more than Kendra.
Buffy’s jealous of her is handled nicely, as everyone seems to love her newness.
And bonus brief naked Angel.

Dead Man’s Party s3x2 ⭐️⭐️⭐️

The rather daft main plot brings the overall score down on this one. Because the character stuff is perfect, SMG sells it all, then the scene when they all start arguing out their feelings is perfect! Though you do wish Xander got a slap!

Anne s3x1 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

A decent season open, SMG playing the guilt ridden Buffy. And the budget increase shows, with a lengthy fight scene, location changes and sets. The demons aren’t the best but nice to have Chanterelle pop up. The gang coping without Buffy is fun, and Giles/Joyce seen is great.

The Bride ⭐️⭐️⭐️ 6/10 IMDb

Ironic that the end credits uses the “Monster Mash” because that’s what Gyllenhaal’s movie is. Direction, design and cinematography is beautiful, the acting is also top notch, its the I’ve a lot of ideas lets see which works that doesn’t fully land!

A biting satire sits at the middle of this movie, which still could say a lot to the way modern media works and thinks.
The cast are great even if my Gran would have said “they shout a lot”

This slight on run time thriller was rather fun. The girls mostly made smart decisions, and the Covid setting made a slight different take on the motive.

Or you just do a double bill.

Roll on 16:30 and another week of work is over!

It’s alright a little over hyped. I like 2, 3 because the relationship with Love was fun.
