Did Peter Theil sponsor the study?

He *is* the Kennedy Curse.

David Agus’ response resonated with me the most - incredible that others wouldn’t have this basic instinct and due diligence. Kudos to all three of these men.

The video appeared to show he broke the veteran’s forearm in the process of removing him….

Big pot kettle vibes here.

Picked a hell of a couple of years to quit sniffing glue.

What do you mean depends where you are? They’re all in the same place!

lol principled position for China is one that benefits them. As long as Russia is weakened (but not too weakened that causes regions instability), the Chinese will be happy the war continues.

True but sadly very possible.

They only need about 25% of the vote and they could get a majority so not sure alienating a vast majority of the electorate matters a whole lot.

Eh the point if you can get rid of a dodgy president…

But to be clear, there is always a choice. We can definitely have both, all it requires is more taxes or taking from other govt services.

Today years old also. Incredible. Incredibly sad.

What is the odd obsession with lists though. Just elect constituency reps with a rank ordering / proportional systems like PR-STV or AV.

Definitely fair but then it’s an argument for either reducing the number of MPs or enlarging / replacing the chamber (dust off those plans for a new Westminster building). I know people love their history and traditions but things need to move on to be effective.

Such competence. But also it does show how archaic Westminster is - recording voting by walking through a lobby.

You make it sound like China hasn’t banned all these internet services πŸ™ƒ

Oh congrats, you found a way around the ban of one of the many things the Chinese have prohibited! Hope your workaround continues to work and the govt doesn’t quickly snuff out your access at any moment…

China not pretending to be something it isn’t, is hardly a virtue. And China not *yet* (Taiwan the elephant in the room) invading another country doesn’t give it much brownie points either in the league of imperial powers - as you’ve already pointed out it’s history isn’t clean on that front either.

All countries have multiple and often competing interests. The plus that the US had was that human rights an democracy for example was one of them (which clearly sometimes got relegated by other interests at lots of different times) whereas China for example doesn’t even have that as one.

Love to see that β€˜more democracy’ you’re talking about. Let us know when it drops!

You do realise saying one country is worse than the other isn’t saying that the β€˜better’ country doesn’t have problems and isn’t also β€˜bad’? You do get that don’t you? Like, saying murder is worse than theft didn’t mean theft is ok? Or does that not compute with you still?

30.01.2026 15:13 πŸ‘ 0 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

We’re too exposed to the US for sure and I think we should actually be pivoting towards China and away from the US, it it still doesn’t take away from the fact they’re literally a one party authoritarian state, and comparisons to Britain shouldn’t make anyone think they are somehow not bad. πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ
