absolutely yes, because rcv corrals them automatically, no effort required. the very fact that they have to think beyond showing up and voting for who they like is a major hurdle

you do not jump from 1% to 32% in a race where voters are conscious of the spoiler effect

filing deadline is on march 6th, and the voter info guide is mailed out on april 23rd. I don't know if the last date to drop out aligns with the filing deadline, but regardless there is very little time left before they have to start printing
