Entirely hand tools!
Finished up a pair of bedside tables just last week. Next up a banquette and dining table in oak which I’m very much looking forward to.
Not yet at the stage where I can do smaller scale stuff but hoping mid next year.

That’s extraordinary, honestly. One day I’ll have a go at something similar
It’s a beauty. How long did take it roughly?
Fantastic work!
Great work!
Incredible, can’t wait to go. Soon!
616 gang!
That’s what I use it for most, long and big rip cuts
Great idea, I have a gyokucho 616. Marvellous thing for rough work
Amazing job on this!
Shop-made handle for the ryoba? Badass indeed!
Thank you! I mostly followed the Quick Stack Workbench plans by Rex Krueger but adjusted a bunch of stuff to what I wanted.
Woke up yesterday and the early morning sunshine was just right.

Mockup of the banquette seating
Board secured by holdfasts on a workbench. Also hand tools such as saws, squares and planes are visible.
Brace and bit
Assembled parts of the framework
Started the banquette seating project. Got the framework mostly done. European oak is on the way, excited to work on the fun bits.
As with all other projects, only traditional hand tools involved.

oh how nice! I love it, it was amazing to build and since to work on it
Interesting! Dont think I’ve seen them like that before. When I get to a project with long edges, I’ll see if I can fake a few solutions to check what works best.
Really appreciate the help!
Ah interesting, yea I’ll see how it goes. Was thinking of a couple of dog holes for the holdfasts along the back leg which may do the trick.
So far to be honest the old record vice is incredible at holding stuff, super impressive.
That is one beautiful bench. If I get a long-term space for woodworking, I’ll definitely be building a Roubo.
Do you use the sliding deadman much?
Yea absolutely need to build one. Since I use old school holdfasts, the drawers might have to be height restricted but better than the current mess under there!
Yea no dust or noise really. It’s heaven.
Haha well technically it’s our conservatory / dining room where I use up the space next to the fridge. It’s a very small space but I love it. Means I must only use hand tools but I can’t get enough of it, it’s perfect.
It’s a knock-down bench so I move it out for dinner parties. Need a tool chest!
Thank you!

Great find
I see your cat has claimed ownership!
Great piece
Recently went to the Victoria & Albert Museum and saw that the old masters didn’t bother with finishing the under sides and hidden parts either - even in the masterpieces!
That looks amazing. Something I'd love to learn once I get a bit more time
Yep, you can get them from Rex Krueger and there’s even follow-along videos/course if you’re a beginner. www.rexkrueger.com/store/p/quic...
More please!
Beautiful
I can't recommend this enough: workshopheaven.com/z-saw-free-a...
I get that we all should be able to cut to a straight square line but this adds certainty, speed and ease without the cost, noise and dust.
