If I'm reading anything that's not a book/novel, yes, I hear myself. Otherwise, I hear the voices of a narrator and characters my brain created when I'm immersed in a book.

Mom used to say, "You don't have time for no lil boy," when I was growing up. "Keep your head in them books" was the motto she lived by. Now that I have a daughter, I'm not sure if I'll act the same way or let MiniMe experience dating in her late teens (with heavy supervision). Only time will tell.

I was taught what to do vs. what not to do while on dates, but not so much on dating itself. Dating was not encouraged growing up. I had to learn how to date as I became an adult.

I can't believe I spent months waiting for a copy of the audiobook to become available at my library, but I did not have time to finish it because of other projects. Placing another hold would mean more waiting. I ended up purchasing the book this week, which I should've done months ago.

Mid-day workouts hit differently. I'm not tired or stressed, and I have energy. Why did I ever switch from mid-day to night or late night workouts? 🤔

This song irked my soul back in the day. At least the ladies profited off it. 💅🏾

Part 1 of B'Day celebration was a success! I made Belgian waffles with fried apples and andouille sausage for brunch. MiniMe had her hair done and she had her "stylist" (aka Nan) pick out her outfit. We ended the evening at a new restaurant, enjoying Korean & other Asain cuisine, then went shopping.

I'm tired as all get out, but it's my MiniMe's B'Day today! Time for me to get the celebrations started. 🥳🎉

The way Rev. Jesse Jackson's homegoing celebration filled my spirit today...the choir, singers, speakers, prayers...the atmosphere was right!

Reverend Jesse Jackson called on each of us to be heralds of change, to be messengers of hope; to step forward and say “Send me” wherever we have a chance to make an impact.

How fortunate we were that Jesse Jackson answered that call. What a great debt we owe to him.
