Question for self-published authors:
When you format your ebooks, do you use the justify alignment on your text?

I was always told to use as little formatting as possible when preparing the e-pub file, and I'm wondering if it's that big a deal.

KDP justifies it automatically, which is probably why they recommend not doing it in the file and I never thought about it.

Near as I can tell, Draft2Digital doesn't, so I wondering if its expected or preferred.

Finally, with a light sigh, the GranDinah said, “We’ve been allowed some privacy by the local Deemer. There’s a room in the back where we may speak.” She glanced at Celeste. “And I think we have much to discuss.” Without another word, she walked past them to a door beyond the altar, moving with the confident stride of someone used to being deferred to. Katrina, tired and sore from her battle, turned to Celeste with an impatient sneer that conveyed no interest in listening. Leeroy offered a similar look, denoting this didn’t involve him, nor did he want a part in it. The Dinah responded with an awkward gesture toward the door. Groaning, Katrina took her coat, snatched Leeroy, and followed the old woman.

I'm oddly pleased with this small exchange. Three characters conveying their perspective and disposition without dialogue.
