like i played a shitton of quake 3 and ut back in the day so i'm not opposed to playing a fps for the sake of it? but a progression system that boils down to "maybe you won't get slaughtered as fast by guys who play 10 hours a day and have both a skill AND number advantage over you" seems. pointless

anyway the idea of "extraction shooters" rubs me the wrong way bc CONCEPTUALLY in no universe do i want to play a roguelike where i can get pk'd and lose all my progress, but also, all the major ones are retail releases and not f2p so i can't even safely try one to see if i'd like it

ARC Raiders is so poorly secured, and carelessly-written (or at least the Discord integration is, but boy oh boy vibe coding is rampant) that it is logging peoples' actual Discord DMs to a plaintext log file in the game's folder
