That’s only part of it. Much of what you love from the original Dramatica app UX will be part of the new platform as well—just need to port it over.
Also there are some people who have trouble expressing themselves through writing. AI gives them the tools they didn’t have before. Most 3D animators can’t draw to save their lives—us 2D anims thought that would be the “moat” — it wasn’t! (Thankfully btw).
As a former animator for both Disney and Dreamworks who went through the transition from hand-drawn to CGI, I can tell you it’s 100% the person behind the machine. 3D animators eventually got so good that there was stuff they could do that 2D couldn’t even dream of. Their CGI outperformed us 2D…
But what are you going to do when you’re not going to be able to tell?

I started to build what is now Subtxt/Dramatica and Narrova back in 2017–but I’ve never seen such a huge upsurge in interest before, and so many emails from writers who LOVE the new version. I think I finally got it. 😃

Wondering: we used to do the echo buffer flush thing when streaming OpenAI responses, but recently switched over to Reverb and websockets to more intuitively capture all the events and send them to frontend. Works great—but is this approach somehow better?

The amount of completeness varies by author. Ideally you want to tend toward complete to avoid what are commonly known as “story holes.”
There’s a huge initiative involving USC and others called Narrative Context Protocol which addresses all of this. Dramatica plays a key role.
I think you might find even more love for this application very soon. 😊

I absolutely love this quote. And I assume you’re referring to the new “creative writing” model from yesterday. You might have me blocked on sight because I developed an app for narrative structure that now has AI but I guarantee you there are many working behind the scenes for authors.
