Absolutt!

Gi innspill – Veglovutvalget

Så #veg griper inn i nesten alt som betyr noe i samfunnet - framkommelighet for alle typer kjøretøy, syklister, fotgjengere, selvsagt, men også by- og tettstedsplanlegging, samfunnsikkerhet, folkehelse, natur, turisme, friluftsliv, etc. Synspunkt? Takk for gode innspill, Anine!

⚠️ Tipping points are often framed as looming risks.
🌱 But positive tipping points show how targeted action can rapidly shift systems toward safe and just futures.

🎥 In this video, Commissioner Tim Lenton explains why tipping points aren’t just something to fear — but something we can activate.

Extreme weather events
Global warming and environmental degradation weaken agricultural systems and reduce crop
resilience in major production zones. Acute weather events trigger simultaneous crop failures
across two major staple food production areas, causing global food supply shocks and price
spikes. Supply chain disruptions, amplified by extreme weather events, further push up food
costs. The crisis cascades through economies with markets anticipating higher inflation and
lower growth.

A common misconception of climate-related GDP damage figures is to assume that 20% GDP damage means taking a baseline of 100 and subtracting 20% = so an economy structurally smaller at 80% the size of what we have today.

However, economists (via the shared socio-economic pathways, SSPs) have created a magical economy whereby 3% annual GDP growth continues indefinitely into the
future, irrespective of climate change damage severity. And only then, is 20%
subtracted from that growth enlarged total pie, of a fictional future world without
climate change. At no point do economists models factor in the possibility of the
economy structurally declining in size.

Mange vil nok bli overrasket når de skjønner hvordan økonomer regner inn hvordan global oppvarming påvirker økonomien.

Man antar først at BNP vokser 2-3% i året, for alltid(!).

Activate climate’s ‘silent majority’ to supercharge action, experts say Making concerned people aware their views are far from alone could unlock the change so urgently needed

A huge 89% majority of global people [56% even in the United States] want stronger action to fight the #ClimateCrisis, but mistakenly believe they’re in a minority.

The “silent majority” for #ClimateAction needs to get loud.

People want action. Smart cities need to go much further, much faster.
