i'd snap off the first design instantly
i'd snap off the first design instantly
then again, omni man has been in fucking mortal kombat games for years now, so, y'know, whatever man, there are no rules
i'm not saying that the whole story boils down to just who is "stronger" than who.i LOVE rex splode, the coughing baby in the above picture; and robot is much more interesting as a character than how hard he can "take a punch"
but in the "punching each other" genre of game...this is funny
i know fighting games don't have to be "lore accurate" (and also powerscaling sucks, etc etc etc), but it is very funny to see that this lineup includes a bunch of titans, one coughing baby, and one coughing baby in an orange candy shell
if i were still on AIM, my away message right now would 100% be:
"crack my jaws, dry my brains, twist my cnidocytes"
prednisone is the dark souls of rhythm games??
oh hey they're actually fixing the screenshot thing! good!
illustration of a shark toy from the MIGHTY MAX line, the greatest toyline of all time
i drew my favourite toy from when I was a kid :) I recommend it!
OH THAT'S WHAT THEY WERE GOING FOR
i didn't realize that at all, so i wasn't parsing "mouseka" as "the beginning of 'mouseketeer'", and was instead reading it as a foreign word and trying to figure out what reference "moo-seh-ka" was
i recently got the samsung galaxy a25, which is not that expensive and also one of the few current smartphones that still has a (goddamn) headphone jack.
good luck dude
should've known, from the dude who got "snap my cnidocytes" stuck in my head
o shit, and he's on here?
...and he posts about ctenophore evolution and changing seal populations???
fukk yesssss
i can now also thank @beatskelton.bsky.social for introducing me to hi-standard and @karlgerm.com for introducing me to karter aka. who needs radio man
i would post screenshots but for some reason, the game opens its pause menu every time i press the screenshot button
but take my word on it: every scene i've had with victor so far has been such a fucking DELIGHT
oh, i'm sure the last half is actively going to make me mad, like the latter portion of REVillage, so "himbo" may be too strong of a compliment - we'll see as we get there
but also, damn, that's pretty good
he's just so extra - reminds me of osmund saddler from the original RE4
i'm still only in the second grace segment, but man i'm loving this atmosphere, how the zombies work/behave/look, the gradual slope from panic to competence. really good stuff.
every time a character speaks in a cutscene it's so bad, except the villain - he's slimy, hokey, compelling; love him.
so far i'm still early, but the horror is real good and i'm loving it. i did hit the first incredibly stupid puzzle tho (as in, the answer is obvious to the player, but the character refuses to deploy it unless you do some dumb stuff) - you know, classic RE stuff
resident evil requiem is so far delivering exactly what i expected:
great visuals and cool monsters/setpieces, interspersed with fucking placeholder-tier writing
i'm enjoying the early creepy segments tho!
never heard of this before, but this is super funky - especially that last minute, oo
I remember learning about the Hays Code in film school and how it made it so that any amoral protagonist had to meet karmic justice by the end of the film and going βwow, thatβs really sillyβ and then once a week I log online and see people argue that we need stuff like that now or itβs problematic
every time a new game drops
what an amazing pose - really gets the scale of this thing across, while looking natural and living. great stuff
another first - using the firebomb cheese on bed of chaos.
i've watched dist2 and splee5556 and who knows who else do this a million of times, so it's funny to try it and see that it really is that easy.
i dunno why, it just seemed like some sort of mystical art. but nope. you can just do it.
D reads the best as a mustelid silhouette to me
the short cut looks good on you
official 2d artwork of beartic, a polar bear pokemon. it has some spiky lines around the tummy, indicating a general sense of fluffy fair.
official 3d sprite of beartic as it appears in later pokemon games. the tummy fluff has been rendered as a series of individual spikes evenly covering his stomach, each with their own shadow, making it look like beartic is wearing some sort of enormous spiky diaper, and drawing way more attention to the creature's groin than was likely intended.
oh, absolutely. i mean, that's why people are making reddit posts about pokemon graphics titled "why is this OK", as if it were some kind of moral affront or personal insult.
meanwhile, i'm sitting here going "the way they chose to represent beartic's tummy fluff in its 3d model is terrible"!
i remember going back to sw/sh after sc/vi came out, and being struck that it didn't so much "look worse" as it just kinda "looked different", because they went for a more cel-shaded look, with the pokemon models having outlines and blocky solid color patterns - which worked well and holds up.
i think the graphical shortcomings have less to do with "the should be able to afford better shaders" or whatever, and more to do with art direction.
i remember you raising a good point about sc/vi's overworld pokemon being too small, leading to the world seeming too empty. i think that's dead on.
granted, but as a player why would i be interested in grading on that, other than to find something to be mad about?
also, to eb clear, i'm not just talking about gameplay: i'm saying that (e.g.) the fact that your motorcycle can curl up and nap is more important than what the water looks like.
