But they will probably manage to kill millions of people in the meantime, and then afterword declare the events did transpire they were just “invisible” to all but the faithful (that’s what the JW’s did the last time their world ending predictions failed).

The amazing thing is, their guy fits the description of the antichrist better than any leader in modern history. None of these events will come to pass of course, revelations already happened, and this is based on new interpretations from subliterate fantasy writers.

This “Millenial Kingdom” is the goal. The problem is to get there we need to create a literal massive war and hundreds of thousands of deaths to fulfill the prophecy.

People actually believe in and want this stuff and guess what? That’s who we elected into office!

This belief centers on a literal interpretation of the bible (you know mostly revelations, none of that love shit). And the idea that we are in the last age and to trigger Jesus’ return we need to have a massive bloody battle in the holy land. This will result in a 1000 year rule of Jesus on earth.

This is called Dispensationalism. Americans need to do a better job understanding their own religious radicals and the potential outcomes of people with these views coming to power. For this belief system, tens of thousands of Americans dying in war in the mideast is the actual goal.

This might well create the regional war that is threatened and may make this a self-fulfilling prophecy. Meanwhile, I think the Saudis are laughing the hardest as their 3 greatest enemies face off against each other while they pretend at support - or at least neutrality.

Meanwhile we have his newly assigned underlings all over the military saying the quiet part loud, this is the last crusade, a physical war meant to spur Armageddon, and the return of Jesus (this is the Dispensational view). The Israelis are taking advantage of these idiots to remake the region.

The outcome is, he’s clearly sidelined the *planners* as useless nerds while he Leroy Jenkins the US military into a conflict with no planning for supply lines, civilian casualties, evacuating Americans from the region or for keeping trade open through the straight of Hormuz.

Then all the “useless” logistical generals explaining the difficulties resulting in a temper tantrum about Ivy Leagues.
