Hardly ideal, I know, but why can't a MN case be based on live witnesses alone? We all assume we need CIS -level evidence. But how would a case have been brought in 1880? If 5 citizens stand up and say, "I saw him shoot her/him." Can't that be the basis for a trial? (a state trial, not a fed)

Trump administration will not investigate the murders. They covered up and said actions justified. Case closed. As part of the cover up, they have prevented MN from having access to key evidence such as bullets used to murder… thereby impeding MN’s investigation and potential prosecution.

Am I missing something, or is there nothing being done to examine these murders? In a legitimate police organization the shooters would be placed on leave and a detailed analysis would take place. You can't tell me that the guy who put 5 bullets into a prone Pretti was operating within specs.
