Dying
A reference to the Boromir meme from Lord of the Rings in which Boromir is saying "One does not simply walk into Mordor!" only this has Guante's face superimposed over Boromir and the text reads "One does not simply walk into Minnesota"
Buy some new music from @guante.info and @seemore.bsky.social and support a rent relief fund here in Minneapolis - all $ from album sales are going to Neighbors Helping Neighbors!
Found a way to contribute & made this in honor of one of the new tracks... secretrivers.bandcamp.com/album/spring...
Please call! I used this script
A black and white photo of KTM/Guante (wearing a whistle and a “shut down ICE” shirt) and SEE MORE PERSPECTIVE (wearing a poncho, beads and sunglasses) plus the text “Secret Rivers”
an album cover: graffiti-style text: "spring is coming" by secret rivers, featuring hazy artwork of a warm sun rising over greenery, with ice melting into a puddle.
New music! SECRET RIVERS is me and @seemore.bsky.social, and 100% of the proceeds from this project go to the Neighbors Helping Neighbors Twin Cities ICE Relief Fund.
It's also Bandcamp Friday, so the platform doesn't even take a cut if you get it today: secretrivers.bandcamp.com
"ICE presence has expanded across Minnesota, especially in the past three weeks. Funds will be distributed between metro-area and greater Minnesota rent relief."
Another rent relief effort, this one from MN organization Voices for Racial Justice:
Im excited to listen to this. Living in a global majority neighborhood and being really involved in my community changed my mind about almost everything.
An incredibly talented team of my colleagues at @propublica.org have created a searchable database of Trump's team financial disclosures, to help explore potential conflicts of interest: projects.propublica.org/trump-team-f...
A save the date graphic featuring photos of KTM, SMP, and Kat Parent, with text: saturday, 3/7/26 (7pm ct): a virtual live performance (1) for a moment in which we’re not all able to leave our homes to go to a show; (2) for an excuse to raise money for an important MN rent relief effort; (3) for an opportunity to share some new songs and poems! More info: guante.info/salt
Releasing some NEW music friday, then a virtual performance saturday with me, @seemore.bsky.social and @katparent.bsky.social. All proceeds from both going to the Neighbors Helping Neighbors Twin Cities ICE Relief Fund. More info: guante.info/salt
UM-Duluth let students know that they approve of this data center. So if you pay them tuition dollars, or are a Minnesota taxpayer, perhaps let them know this sucks.
Hermantown, if you don’t know, is just up the hill from Duluth and therefore they are eyeing Lake Superior.
We must stop this.
Frame from campaign ad by Rep. Dan Goldman. His face full on center frame under which is the caption in all caps “ABOLISH ICE”
Public pressure means something. Primaries can change policies. In NY-10, Dan Goldman has been running ads for months.
Primaried from his left by @bradlander.bsky.social, Goldman’s ads have gone from “Agents should have to carry ID” in January, to big bold graphics this month that say “Abolish ICE.”
This is not just cursed, its monstrous. The digital resurrection of a historian who died in January of this year, all so Grammarly can get some more clicks and engagement from students and/or scholars and/or others.
It feels so wrong on so many levels, these ghosts enslaved to AI forever
NEW: Dozens of people were violently arrested by state police and Hennepin County sheriff's deputies after a march against ICE to the Whipple Federal Building on Sunday, March 1, during the last planned protest of the 'Bring the Heat Melt The Ice!' week of action in Minnesota.

Two years ago yesterday, as hundreds of starving Palestinians waited in line for humanitarian aid, including flour for bread, the Israeli military opened fire, killing over 100 Palestinians and wounding over 700.
normal caveats about wealth measures vs GSP aside, we should not be surprised that the elite impunity political environment has been good economically for the people on top, and that all of this is not solely about getting to say slurs during business hours
Our answer to divide-and-conquer tactics is solidarity. Our answer is unity. Our answer is union.

“Fascism, it’s always about using nationalism, and the nation, as a bludgeon to generate support for death policies, on behalf of death governments. For violence and repression and exploitation, internationalism is the antidote, always.” —Robin D. G. Kelley
As a Xicane who has been really careful about when and how i leave the apartment, i know how much this kind of thing can mean to folks. Hopefully events like this can help us feel more connected - and a littele less isolated.
...we've had huge virtual events and tiny ones. Either way, I want to affirm: it is worthwhile to do stuff no matter how "successful” it is by traditional metrics. It is worthwhile to do art + culture work even if it’s just for yourself. It is worthwhile to try things, and see what happens. Join us!
Continuing to find ways to be of service with the tools and capacity we have, as ever. Hoping this can offer some respite for folks staying in, living under threat of being disappeared one way or another by occupying forces.
My latest reprinted in @truthout.org. "One group member admitted that she followed ICE vehicles while honking loudly so often that her car horn broke."
