Green flag that reads "Cymru Rising 2025"
Red flag that reads "Cymru'n Codi 1831"
Background split between images of the Merthyr Rising, Miners Strike, Welsh Nationalist Marches and Modern Protests
Title reading: Cymru'n Codi Statement
Cymru’n Codi formed because there is an urgent need for socialists of all kinds to campaign together for people, planet and peace - not profit.
On that basis, we welcome the launch of a new UK left initiative by Zarah Sultana and Jeremy Corbyn. People across the UK are clearly hungry for the kind of change this party offers.
At the same time, our focus is rooted in Cymru. Our project is producing and publicising an ecosocialist platform that reflects the realities and aspirations of communities across our country.
We believe that the future of Cymru is open, autonomous, grassroots organising for an independent socialist republic.
In the upcoming 2026 Senedd elections and beyond, we will support without partisan prejudice all candidates & parties who share our policies & vision, and respect our right to autonomous organisation.
Everyone who shares our values of class struggle, ecological survival, international solidarity & national independence is welcome to join us.
A Cymru'n Codi statement on our project, the new party, our plans for 2026 and our belief in independence as Cymru's best path forward to socialism:

It's not enough for us to simply give the NHS more funding; we must outright abolish all privatisation, competitive tendering & PFIs. Senedd Members must refuse to implement any budget cuts Westminster tries to force on them

To combat the housing & climate crises and safeguard our independence, Wales requires extensive land reform and a total reorientation of housing policy. We need rent control, compulsory purchase of empty properties and an end to Section 21.

White writing on red says "Announcing a socialist alliance for people, planet and peace in Cymru"
A logo of a green and red banner crossed is present. White writing on the green banner says Cymru Rising 2025, white writing on the red banner says Cymru'n Codi 1831.
In the background are four images, first of the Merthyr Rising, then of people marching against the flooding against Tryweryn Valley, then of National Union of Mineworkers strikers marching, then of a modern march for Welsh Independence
Who are we?
Cymru’n Codi has come from the Cymru Radical Left Dialogue project - which has held 2 conferences, and 7 policy workshops, to develop a programme for us to unite around as socialists in Wales. We are committed to constructing a socialist Cymru rooted in class struggle, ecological survival, internationalist solidarity, and national independence. We reject capitalism’s drive for profit, war, and environmental destruction, and aim to replace it with democratic control over production, resources, and decision-making. Now, more than ever, a radical programme of transformation is needed to combat the far right, to combat the neoliberalism which has robbed us, and to fight for ecological socialism - ecosocialism.
A socialist alliance for people, planet and peace!

For Social Transformation
We recognise the need for Cymru to be fundamentally reorganised, with the working class in charge, not the bosses. A core principle of Cymru’n Codi is this – that the future of Wales and the world cannot be trusted in the hands of those who are ruining it now. The same people who piled thousands of tonnes of slag on the tops of our hills, the people who flooded our valleys, are the same people who have driven our world into a climate disaster – spurred on by endless drive towards profit.
For National Independence
Westminster, and the political status quo of Wales, has left us voiceless, easily ignored and an afterthought. We must take radical steps to change this, and fully address the conditions here in Cymru, unique to our situation. We have a national parliament, our ecological situation is linked to our industrial exploitation, and our cultural heritage has been trampled by the capitalist homogenisation of Cymru under British capitalism. The British state is a roadblock to social, political and economic transformation in Cymru.
For An Internationalist Cymru
We reject any notion that the working class in Wales has nothing to do with the working class in any other country – and reject the concept that by organising on a Welsh basis, we are no longer internationalist. We see our fight as one interlinked fight against global capitalism – and uphold our proud history as working class internationalists. The fight for production for people, planet and peace, not profit, is an international one, and we commit to fighting on the Welsh and international stage for it.
Our core principles: social transformation, national independence and an internationalist Cymru
