Yea I guess I am just curious as to who it actually was that was mad about it. Just felt so forced and manufactured. But the TPUSA folks specialize in manufactured outrage and division. I'm sure there were folks actually mad about it somewhere, I just didn't see it myself firsthand this time.

I actually have a fair mount of conservatives within my general orbit, and I didn't really hear any of them bitching about Bad Bunny. I thought he did a good job but I had never heard any of his music before and wouldn't have recognized him if he passed me on the street.

I guess I just don't care much about mainstream pop music. I don't listen to it and am not familiar with a lot of it. Deftones are about as mainstream as I get. Y'all let me know when they get the call.

I really don't want to jump in on all the manufactured outrage over nothing, but I genuinely don't know what its like to have a strong opinion on the half time show regardless of who is performing.

My kids are around other kids all the time. Extracurricular activities, baseball, track, etc. Been having some complicated conversations lately about ICE and our country's historical treatment of other people. Navigating that while trying not to make them completely doomer at 9 and 5yo is tricky. Ha

For sure. Like, I get we all love to dunk on tradwives and shit. Fair enough. But our public education system in the US, and the way funding is so unevenly distributed, isnt great. I want my kids to read and write well, be educated in arts, literature, etc. And yes, the civil rights movement.

I have defended public education ad nauseam to the 2 friends I have who oppose "govt education" or whatever. Homeschooling grew on me over time. I was nervous about it. Yes, I am also religious most days, so make of that what you wish. Not a factor in my reasoning. Schools in my area are bad, sadly.

You can roll your eyes, but I really am a supporter of public education. But I don't think it's unreasonable to note that our system is being intentionally dismantled and has a litany of issues of its own. And yes, I realize it takes an immense amount of privilege to be able to homeschool.
